General Overclocking with Intel Corei7

Hello guys,

I created this thread for general overclocking discussion with Corei7 series. let us exchange our thoughts or some tips about overclocking our Corei7.

just finished benchmarking my Corei7 920 (D0) with 3DMark06

my feedback on this setup, madaling i-overclock, kahit wala ng masyadong galawin sa ibang settings such as QPI voltage, IOH voltage, RAM Timings, RAM frequency, MCH, etc.

kahit Baseclock at CPU Voltage lang, lumalarga na. I will try to bench on 3Dmark Vantage with this setting later on...

anyway... this is my last benchmark on 3Dmark Vantage @ 3.9ghz+ with stock GPU

Hi there. Question. How many core does i7 has? I heard it is 8 pero I am not sure about it.

from the bottom part, it was written as:

Cores: 4 Threads: 8

the real 8 cores is not yet released in the market.

Corei7 is still quadcore

so far sir sa core speed nio as of now... ok nmn ba ung temp?
ok ba ung performance ng cpu cooler nio sir or much prefered ung water cooling? corect me lng sir kung mali...

temp is around 39-42c (no aircon)
no need for water cooling sir, mas ok pa din air cooling, less maintenance, less hassle.

eto share ko paps, same old push, overkill nga, pang chat and movies lang gamit ko, hehe..

3.6ghz with nice temp 60ºC~65ºC (load), pretty stable @ LinX, SuperPi 32m and rendering 3dsmax/vray.

cpu: i7 920 @ 3.6ghz
memory: DDR3 1600mhz
vcore: 1.35v
vtt: 1.65v
memory timing: 7-8-7-20 / 1T



try ko push pag dumating na 5970 dito sa area ko, syempre ipon mode muna, bottleneck yung gpu(4890) ko sa vantage
