File Linking Problem CAD to 3DSmax

i use to model my 3d in autocad & rendering it in max+ vray through linking my cad file to max.

ang problema po ay ganito;
whenver i made an update/ revision in my cad file then RELOAD it in max (for my max file to be updated too)
NAAALIS yung mga initially applied materials na nilagay ko na sa max. so whats happening is whenever i do changes in CAD & do the reloading in max...inuulit ko uli yung pag apply ng materials dahil naaalis lahat ng naiapply ko na materials.

nung scanline pa ang gamit ko na pangrender diko naeencounter ang ganitong problem sa RELOADING.
same process lang din ang ginagawa ko, CAD to MAX through File Link, kahit reload ako ng reload di nawawala yung mga materials na initially naka apply na during initial render.

di kaya mga masters baka di compatible ang file linking in cad to max kung ang 3rd party renderer mo is Vray?
or baka naman isang pindot lang ang kailangan dito para ma solve ang ikinasasakit ng ulo ko dito.?

hmmmm... dun sa max file sir pag nagrereload ka nkacheck ba dun sa "advanced" tab yung 2 choices: "use scene material definitions" at yung "use scene material assignments on reload"?.. that should solve your problem. pag ayaw pa rin try to make a "new" cad file; start from scratch. nangyayari din sa kin yan pag yung "old" cad files ang linilink ko sa max. if thats the case (old file ang nililink mo) you're out of luck, kada reload mo wala na mats mo. better finish the model na lang sa cad, make sure wala ka nang papalitan as in complete na, then file link & finish the whole shebang in one take. this works for me. di ko alam kung may iba pang paraan. lets wait for other inputs...

ginawa ko yung sinabi mo same pa rin prob ko.pero as per sir eric & sir render master nagwowork sa kanila yun... i guess baka ang software ko dito ang kailangan i reinstall.

pag di pa rin umubra sa pag reinstal ko, i have no choice but to finalize the modelling before linking it to max....medyo mahirap nga lang lalo na pag nagrarush at biglaan meron ka kailangan isingit at magrereload ka ulit...

anong version ng cad ang gamit mo? me, im using cad2k8 and it works also when i use arhcitectural desktop 2k8

suggestion ko lng mga sir..mhilig kc ko magbasa ng mga different tutorials..i remember n file link manager fully work on autocad 2005 version.you try, wala nmn mawawala..un ang alam ko tlga..

try to use a higher version of cad... im using 2k8, i havent encountered any problems with it....

save your file into lower version ( architectural desktop file) im using the same version.

cloud20 is right. pero kung hindi tlga magwork sau sir why not try to file link the updated cad file then merge it on your older max file of the same project of course. that way your material will be intact. but you must have a good layering.

EDIT: kahit ba file link ka per layer nawawala pa rin ung material? kc kung hindi nman e no need to use file link again> bind> and merge in the old file. hope makatulong.

pwede mong ma achieve un material kahit ilan beses ka mag reload at magrevised wag mo lang babaguhin un filename na una mong ginamit at nilagyan ng materials.. at kailangan din nasa right position ang lahat...cheers
