3dmax2010 and vraysp3 combo

hi guys,

can you share your experience with these softwares if you are using them... I like at the moment the combo of 3Dmax2009 and VraySP2.. but because of the new feature of 3dmax to integrate googles sketchup i am thinking to migrate.

i heard somwehere na mas mabagl ang dalawa comparting to 3dmax2009 and vray sp2 combo.. is it true?

pwedeng i install yung dalawa diba? max2009 and max2010... now kung sakaling yung max2010..i think pwedeng i save yung file para mabuksan sa 2009 diba?

sir nom, mas mabigat pa rin yung max 2010 compare sa luma, dami atang nadagdag na features.and syempre yung max 2010 di mo pwede buksan sa 2009 na max... unless na save mo as 3DS yung file. sa installation pwede pareho..im using max 2008 saka max 2010...pero mas prefer ko pa rin yung 2008 dun na ako na sanay e. saka ang bagal magload ng max 2010 compare sa mga lumang version.........

one more thing...pag nag save ka ng file sa folder using max2010...ang dami nyang ecre-create na folders sa loob ng pinag-save-an mong file()example:preview folder, import folder, etc.) parang ang dami nyan path na naka add sa max 2010.

is it true? i have installed max2010 to my pc and havent got the chance to work on it, (im still waiting for the vraysp3 full version hehehe) magulo ba ang max2010? sayang mukhang ok pa naman ang vray dun...

boss erick, actaully di ko pa gaano pinakikialaman yung max 2010 kaso dami na agad akong na encounter na negative. anyway, di ko pa rin naman nakikita yung mga features nya like yung binangit ni sir nom na integrated na yung SU sa 2010. ang paninsin ko palang ang bagal nyang magload compare syempre sa lumang version....try mong explore tpos sabhin mo sa akin bro...hehe saka ako lilipat ng version!!!!hihihihi......

We have been using it for a few months now, I haven't got any problems.

There's so much to mention but you can find the info at autodesk.com. They explain them better than me.

As for sp3a, just the same - I do not find any problem worth banging my head at this point.

The "many folders" you mentioned is like the archiving function of max in previous versions, instead of zipping them up, you can organize the files this way. You may opt to use it or not. I don't.

Based naman sa experience ko with 2010 max so far wala rin ako na encounter na problem i've install also connectivity extension at na import ko din ang su file with out a problem . regarding naman sa file once nag work ka sa 2010 max d mo na ma open ang file mo na max file sa 2009 max..

sa vray naman i prefer mag mentalray na lng sobrang dami ang features nito at once ma unlock mo lng mga secrets bali wala na ang vray ...

hope naka help .. at sabi nga ni master V .. maraming features try to check lng ang site ng autodesk ..

remember that the connectivity extension isn't available if you aren't a subscription member. So it isn't a default feature.

I am doing some testing with MR as well but since I am a biased vray user since day one, I'll probably have differing opinion with edosayla. You can't still live without vray - and I will probably hit it one one one with any mr user (biro lang!)

thanks sa inyong mga feedback... really so kapag nagmax2010 kapala hindi na pwedeng mabuksan kung mas lower ang version at kailangan pa palang i save sa 3ds.. patay pala kung yung ibang share mo ang file mo sa hinid naman max2010 file.. bakit kaya ganun?

@edosayla yung mental ray ba mabilis magrender? i think you really found something in mental ray.., sige will look on this..

I would have to make a though comparative test to give you a precise answer but I am not noticing any speed gains or loss in my regular scenes.

hehehe oo nga pla sir V .. pasensya hehehe vray user ka pla like Sir V said most of us are in the testing phase .. mostly ginagamit ko pa rin ang 2009 kasi marami akong plugins dito .. but for quite sometime 2010 ginagamit ko din .. about naman sa VRAY user i've install both SP3a at ang VRAY RT sa 2010 and it works fine and ofcourse great output ...

sa Mentalray user naman good news din meron din parang VRAY RT ang 2010 na max .. pero its a 3rd party raytracing renderer.. kindly check this thread
