Just want to post this for all members of CGP's who are base hr in dubai or any area of U.A.E. to help our kabayans in our home town who are victim of bagyong ondoy.

///WALK FOR A CAUSE////

To generate cash for the victims of Ondoy/Ketsana, PBC (Phil. Business Council),
in cooperation with other Filipino Organisations, the Filipino community and the
Phil. Consulate, will be organising a Charity Walk event.

Let us support this campaign by participating and inviting all our friends to join in.

I have cut and pasted below an update of this drive and will keep you posted on
any developments.

In the interim, please keep Oct. 9 free.

- 100% of the proceeds from the fund raising will go to the Philippine Red Cross

- All cost in mounting this event will be shouldered by PBC and sponsors

- Each participant will pay dhs. 50- and get free Giordano t-shirt to wear in the walk

- Venue is Safa Park - the walking path outside the park perimeter

- Date: 9th October 2009

- Time: registration will start at 7.30 AM - walk starts at 8AM

- We will be inviting all Filcom groups, all business councils, and friends of friends of all nationalities.



I met with the Dubai Municipality authorities and have given a formal letter of request to hold this
event in Safa Park . the procedure is to get approval from them. Since money will be collected for
chairty, PBC will need a go ahead from a charitable institution based in Dubai . Since we are planning
to donate the money to the Philippine Red Cross, maybe its counterpart the Rad Crescent will be the
charity of preference.



I have also approached Dubai Cares. Apparently, they do only school or children oriented charities in
kind. We will go back to them for later.
