Re: OLD KITCHEN (sinigang na tilapia)
There is no way I would know you're cooking tilapia until I read the title.
At first glance, I thought your house will be on fire in a few minutes because of the lack of proper exhaust, Since you seem to have an electric flat stove where you boil water off the pot, I would have thought that if I was the real person cooking sinigang - I won't take the trouble making fire and gambling with the possible fire accident. Which means, I'd cook sinigang in the same electric stove I boiled water into.
See? the trouble in your cg scene is not really what you modelled or textured (although I still find some of it unreal). The most important part is how you combine the elements to make a believable situation. Suspension of disbelief is something you should consider. Because right now - I don't feel engaged into believing that what I see is something that might be even real.
On a side note, here's one tip to simulate heat. Heat is not just something you feel, it is something you can also see. Which means, you can use the same smoke footage as a displacement map in either photoshop or your compositing app. A few nudged pixels up and sideways will distort whatever that's behind the smoke - same thing you see when you look at an object with a high temperature smoke or fire infront of it. Google heatwaves if I sound crytic.
