Falloff Map Inquiry

guys kelan ba talaga dapat gagamitin ang falloff sa vray as dagdag rekado sa material? what is the proper way of applying it? is there any general rules ng paggamit ng falloff? like, kung wood ba ang material dapat ay gagamitin lang sya sa reflection? and what type? perpendicular? freshnel? etc... kung velvet and clothing ba ay dapat nasa diffuse lang sya? and kung curtain stool naman ay dapat ba ay nasa refraction lang? malaki ba ang effects nito sa rendering time? feel free to give your insights cgpips
