Creating Your Own Brush
I would like to share this workflow on How to create your own brush in Photoshop.
To start with.
1.In this illustration, I created a vector art- a decorative relief. using the basic brush
2.Then applied with some layer style. Beveling, gradient overlay and stroke.
3. To make the pattern available anytime, i created a brush from it. To start i off its layer style and extract just the main outline of the design.
4. Select only the graphics layer by using magic wand selection ( W). Since the vector art is a separated layer, you can press CTRL A ( select all) then hit the up or down arrow to move the selection on the vectors arts alone. So on the figure, you will see that the selection isolated the design
5.Then go to Edit menu, browse down and press Define Brush Preset.
6.Rename your brush, and save it to your collection
7. The next time you will need the design, its now available in your brush library.
8. Here is another example, an entourage trees, cut out from some images.
9. I extracted an alpha selection to isolate the main tree only.
10. Select the tree only, go to edit and select Define Brush Presets and save it as a new brush
11. Apply it to wherever you want, for foreground, background or to wherever you think its right to use it.
12. Here is another, creating a signature brush, i use my very own picture. I would like to create a signature brush with picture.
13. I created a vector art from it by using the photoshop artistic filters
14. Resized it to fit in to my screen, add text signature
15. Merge the text layer to my vector image. Go to Edit menu, select define Brush Presets
16. And use the brush. Its now available on the brushes collection
Have fun with the brushes. Hope it helps
My decorative and entourage brush collection will soon available on the Free Section

Mam, good day po... Usually JPEGS and low res images doesnt have alpha maps embedded to it. Yung me alpha are Tiff, Targa, Iff, PSD, and other high format images... kaso dependent din to sa image if someone made it with an alpha map. Alpha channels are available since version 7 po ng Photoshop... so it should be available on CS...

same procedure pa rin sir. kapag gagawa ka ng graphics para gawin mong brush, separate layer mo lang with the background para di ka na maghihirap mag masking.
