need help (for sunset and sunrise)

hello... this is my first time to post here. i wanna ask your help. im a newbie and i have a canon rebel xti/450d. ill be having an adventure this weekend and ill try to shoot sunrise and sunset. what is the best setting for manual mode, what aperture, shutter speed, white bal, etc? i only have a UV filter, a tripod and 18-55 kit lens. i only have one time to shoot, one sunset, one sunrise... thank you so much in advance.....
