New 3dsmax scene from scratch

Hi! I'm just wondering when you have to make a brand new 3d interior, for example a residential, do you create from File>New... and edit all the Vray settings etc... Or you get a file almost with the same look you want for the new one and then create from that file? Just curious.  Give some tips and tricks too for newbies like me. Salamat! 

suggestion lang sir, 
1.open mo max,gawa ka ng blank scene sir
2.set mo lahat ng settings mo na preferred 
3. pag ok na isave mo sya na ang filename ay MaxStart.max
sa default folder ng max sir (that is my documents > 3ds max folder > scenes)
close mo max mo or pwede din ireset
4. tuwing ioopen mo ang 3ds max yun na yung magiging default start scene mo, nakaset na lahat ng settings and viewport.

pero mas maganda iset settings mo sya kada scene para di mo makalimutan

antayin natin mga tunay na masters baka may mas magandang technique sila

Is it possible ba na if i want a template for everything.. Example nagustuhan ko yung max file na may water effect, issave ko yung file as archive (Save As Archive) then immerge ko sa Scene ko... Mappreserve ba yun?

Or even yung lights if i want to achievve similar sa isang max file, pano ko sya basta makukuha?

By saving it as MaxStart.max file ba will work?
