hyperthreading i7
sirs/ma'ams...
patulong po regarding this....
when I render, I only have 4 buckets. It should be 8 buckets since Im running i7.. so i did some searching.
task manager says I have 2 cores 4 logical processors
dxdiag says i have 4 cpus (i guess this means i have 4 cores and supposedly 4 logical processors)
unit: asus x550lb (laptop)
processor: i7 4500U
ram: 8gb
OS: windows 8
in my search. My unit's hyperthreading is disabled and I can enable it by accessing my bios.
so i did by accessing my UEFI firmware(this is the bios right?) settings though "Change PC settings>General> advanced startup> troubleshoot>change UEFI Firmware(BIOS)"
in my bios i can enable it by enabling HT(hyperthreading) or enabling my processors right?0....
the thing now is, I can't find hyperthreading/processors setting...
so my questions:
am I in the right path?
or does this means hyperthreading settings is not available in my unit...
is there other way to enable hyperthreading in my unit?(i mean there should be cox dxdiag says 4cpus is available in my unit but task manager says it's only working on 2cores)

Re: hyperthreading i7
correct sir your i7 4500u is just dual core with hyper threadinng that makes it 4 buckets in rendering. walang problema dun tlagang dual core lang tlaga si i7 4500u.
yan ang problema sa mga laptop, kahit i7 na, kasing bilis equally lang ng i3 na desktop, then ang mahal pa, makakabili kana ng i7 budgeted na desktop in that price that performs 3x-5x faster vs i7 laptops.
