Good Day po. Im a 3rd year High School Student. Wanting to be a CG Artist or Animator. As much as possible hindi yung masyado expensive. And what programs or skills should I learn? Thank you.

Maganda siguro ay fine arts. Para makabisado mo din ang mga techniques. Tapos after nun, saka mo ipapasok ang 3d software learning. Good luck!

Before you enroll in a school, check out the school, the curriculum and compare it with the other schools and courses. Oh and btw college will really be expensive so try applying for scholarship when you enroll. Ask students already enrolled their experience as well. Schools are not like you'd imagine it to be. And it's all going to depend on how you do, how you spend your time.

Architecture (4-5 years)
Industrial Design (4 years?)
Fine Arts Painting (4 years)
Multimedia Arts (2-3 years)
Animation (3 years?)

Schools:
UP UST FEU CSB Iacademy CIIT

Programs/Skills: It's best to start with traditional and at the same time learn Photoshop, memorize the shortcuts and tools. It's going to be helpful.

I took up Fine Arts Painting at UST last last year and it's definitely not what I expected and transferred to CIIT now taking up Multimedia Arts - Computer Graphics Design.

Thank you po juelleq. Nagamit na po ako ng Photoshop. After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4d. Like you said, I'll try to learn more about photoshop and master it maybe on vacation.

Looks like I'm gonna take MMA.

Well it's good that you've tried different programs. But if you plan to be a 3D artist, I suggest you try programs like Sculptris (3d modeling) and Blender. These are free programs you can download online. Very Happy

I don't want you to disregard that option tho.. everything has its advantage. It's just that in my case, the teaching method at Fine Arts Painting is different. I expected them to teach me step by step but in reality it's all on you. How you learn from the project given to you. Well, I couldn't wait for another 3 years to finish this course so I transferred. It was really expensive too.

The tuition would depend on how many subjects you take at each term. Maximum for each term would probably be around 30k? for three terms. It's probably the cheapest compared to CSB and Iacademy. Tho it's a pretty small school. Unless you want a really big community, go for CSB. If you do enroll at CIIT pm me! Very Happy

Nagreply po sa email ko yung CIIT then they said na Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Arts/3d Animation ay range ng 27k to 33k ang tuition for term. Di pa po ako sure kung sa CIIT ako. May 1year pa ako sa HS eh.

May requirements po ba in terms of gamit or gadgets like laptop, camera, etc? Specs?

I'm taking the diploma course so I'll probably graduate next year? :c

Maganda maginvest sa magandang computer and drawing tablet. Smile

Anyways, Study hard and Good luck! Smile

Depende kung makakuha ka. Most of the time yung mga companies nagrerequire ng bachelor's degree pag mag aapply. Portfolio is very important too! Very Happy

Nagwowork na kasi ako and mahirap magbalance time for school. Smile

Btw, pagisipan mo mabuti ano ba gusto mo matutunan sa college. Kung foundation and discipline maganda industrial design or architecture. Then after nun pwede ka magenroll into MMA. It's a long time pero you'll come out as a better artist.

Don't follow into my footsteps, kasi it's different for everyone. Smile I took the riskier path and I still have a long way to go. Good luck on your journey! Work hard! Smile
