CALLING TO SKETCHUP MASTERS Empty CALLING TO SKETCHUP MASTERS

Post by davendask Mon Dec 09, 2013 12:39 am

May scene ako sa Max save ko as .3ds through export then i open sketchup then import ko. Kaya lang pag open sa sketchup yung ibang object wala at yung mga object my mga line which from 3dmax wala naman yan. Paano po mawala yang mga line sa sketchup? Try ko delete 1 by 1 ok. Pero very consuming time. Siguro may mas madaling paraan. Salamat po.
Below is one of example po:

read mo lang yung forum

Currently I have 2 routes. First change all the materials to Standard type materials. Don't worry about any material parameters other than the map in the diffuse slot which is what will show up in SU. Then export either via .3ds or .dae.

I prefer .dae but you can't use the default Autodesk Collada because SU won't import it. You have to download the Open Collada plugin here http://code.google.com/p/opencollada/downloads/list which will add another option to your export file type list - Open Collada .dae. I think you have the option with .dae to not triangulate but don't hold me to that.

.3ds is nice and reliable as well but I run into the 64k triangle limit pretty regularly. Collada has no such polygon limit to exports.

All you can do with extra triangles is run Tom's cleanup script http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=22920 If that doesn't cleanup the triangle that means there's actually a bend there and 3ds Max just wasn't showing it to you.

Try mo din yung soften/smooth edges. select mo lang ang object then right click, nasa one of the menus. It's tricky but it's very useful. Lalo na kung tulad nyan, dimension lang naman.

Both suggestions are ok po:
Credit to sir mito1019 post links. I tried to save .dae thru max and then import to sketchup. All the objects are clean no extra edges. I dont export the files using .3ds extension causse some objects are missing in importing thru Sketchup. So i choose .dae extension upon exporting in 3dmax.
Credit to sir bokkins: Ok then sir yung soften/smooth edges na way. Check ko lang yung smooth normals at soften coplanar then adjust the sliding angle control para mawala yung mga lines. I discover then na pwedi rin OUTERSHELL. select the object then right click then select OUTERSHELL.
thats it.

Maraming Salamat po.
