3d outsourcing.
hi guys,
my first real post here. I have been reading/viewing here but not really posting.
I'm currently working in Singapore for an interior design firm in the capacity of a 3d renderer(the one and only for this firm). Just recently my boss decided on considering outsourcing animations/walkthroughs to China. So there.. my question is do you guys know anyone from china or probably recommend a good firm from China to where we can outsource these animations? I've seen on another pinoy 3d forum a certain walkthough (which i've lost the link to look back on) which was modeled in China but rendered in dubai.
That said, I think people here (us Pinoys) can do an equal, if not better job, than them (china) not to say much more easier to coordinate with (communication wise). SO if you guys are quite confident post your contacts and portfolios preferably websites or equivalent here (PM would work if you want your details to be confidential). Sample quotations/ Base prices are appreciated i.e how much per second/minute, project coverage (up to post production, video output etc), resolution.. and any other particulars you might want to include. the more detailed the better.
I'm expecting some skepticism here (i would be, should i not be the one posting this) so i'm just saying that the operative words here are *exploring and considering the option*. yours truly can of course work on animations but i think the boss is looking for fast turnaround times. I'm not too fast at that..
on a final note I really would appreciate a fast response and somehow A REAL LIST for chinese contacts (i'm really hoping the guy who posted that animation in the other forum is here also ) so as not to appear that I have bias towards my countrymen, which i have actually in this case. More choices the better.
Best,
Elo

As far as I know, Sir vITAMINs(Paul) is working in Dubai right now. The company he was talking to in China is there sister company. I don't know the term outsourcing is the right word for that.
We will wait for Paul's comment on this. I stand corrected btw...
Re: 3d outsourcing.

Re: 3d outsourcing.
thanks for filing up for me guys...
regarding your inquiry, yes...the company in china is also Modelcraft. We have offices in Riyadh, Dubai(main), Shanghai, and in Australia. Dubai is the main office and major projects are happening here. The China office is our workhorse. Because of their numbers and their talent, they have achieve a lot of work that all our offices would have a hard time to handle on their own...take for example in modeling. They can easily complete a model of 10 houses in a single day in very high Polygon. They can complete a whole development of buildings and marinas in a week or less...with details that are so impressive that we can go aerial and dive into ground level without worrying about low poly and un-acceptable broken models. I do agree that Pinoy can compete with these challenges...but on my opinion, i guess it both depends on the individual and the team. It so happened that our china team is very skilled in managing large scale modeling accurately and very fast.
as for your other inquiry, im not sure if i know any office that would outsource animation. But i do believe china has a lot of them. They even have a good number of offices that provide rendering services with their render farms...all you have to do is give them your file(complete with settings), they get back to you with either a TGA,PNG, or JPEG sequence of your animation...which ever file format you prefer.

Re: 3d outsourcing.
I'm not really into pitching but I could not help but sigh at the thought that china will do better than us. Well, not everytime.
So when you are done looking at the studios in SG (ayus yan sa mushroom!) - feel free to consider sending jobs in manila, our way. While I cannot promise that we can accomodate you at once, nothing gives me the kick than proving the Philippines can still be the destination.
San ka ba sa SG at ng masuhulan na kita?
