Thesis - Electricity Generation through Sitting, any suggestion?

Hello everyone, can anyone share their knowledge or insights regarding this thesis topic.
Our thesis as already stated in the title is "Electricity Generation through Sitting." The main idea of our thesis is to convert natural body heat (release from sitting) into electricity and store it in a battery for future use. We are planning to use thermoelectric module in achieving this. But we are still unsure on how we will design our prototype.

maganda po itong title ninyo, nasa trend at timely ang alternative energy source. ang naiisip ko lamang po na problema ay ang comfortablitiy vs efficiency...base on your plan to convert natural body heat into electricity.
questions:
•is the normal body temp of an average (sitting) human enough to generate electricity? if not what are your solutions. (pagkakaalam ko po kasi ay bumababa ang body temp ng tao kapag nag re-rest?)

•can those solutions affect the ergonomics (comfortability) of sitting, provided that you have to prolong the average sitting time of a person to generate more electricity?

ayun lamang po ang una ko pong naisip dito, paano magiging komportable at the same time efficient ang project po...siguro po elist muna ang mga factors for those categories.
point of view lang naman po ito architecture student, interesado din po kasi ako dito sa proposal nyo. goodluck po

parang masyadong limited kung body heat lang ang magiging resources. parang hindi sufficient unless you have heat converter that can multiply those body heat 5x or 10 x ( imho)... wala bang ibang alternative?

To address the concern of sir pipicosis about comfortability, we wont really force someone to prolong their sitting time.According to studies, the average adult spends 50 to 70 percent of their time sitting. Our thesis will be design so that the device is just like a normal chair which does not hinder the activities of its user.

After doing some research, I found out that it is really possible to harness the power of body heat during sitting and convert it to electricity. The only drawback is, the output power is really small (it will only be able to light up a desk lamp), making it impractical.

But not wanting to give up on the idea, I searched for more ways to generate electricity. And the results are as follows:
> by constantly moving a magnet inside a coil, the coil will generate electricity
> by using piezoelectric materials, when a force is applied to this piezoelectric materials, electricity will be produce
> there is a DC-DC step up transformer that converts milliwatts of power into Watts of power

Incorporating this three in our thesis might give us a higher chance of generating more electricity.
>First,the piezoelectric materials can be place where the user actually sits since a force will surely be applied on it. But piezoelectric materials are pretty costly, can anyone suggest any alternative for this stuff?

>The magnet is our problem, we wont be using a rocking chair for this thesis, just a simple chair. Without the back and forth motion of the rocking chair, can anyone suggest on how we will move our magnet inside the coil?

>Does anyone know if there really is a heat converter that can multiply body heat just like what render master said?

Body Heat na lang ba talaga naka focus yun thesis nyo? Kasi parang pang survival lang yan eh pang emergency ba.

*Sana isipin nyo muna para saan at ano ba ang target market nito just incase?
*Kung alternative ba to sa kakulangan ng electricity?

Kung electricity generation ang target nyo why don't you use the "CLIMATE CHANGE Phenomenon" sobrang init, sobrang ulan (tubig) which is our alarming weather condition...

I guess malaki ang chance ng option 2 sir...applying force can definitely help increase generation of electricity. pero not necessarily na rocking chair, siguro research more about common or specific body movements while sitting na makakatulong sa pag generate ng elec using the said technology

Sir JVT_Ltd, if you read and have a complete understanding of my 2nd post , you should already know that our thesis is not limited to body heat, that is why we have "through sitting" in its title. How can you say that our thesis is only for survival and emergencies situations, do you not sit most of the time?

Buenas noches, since ang target po ninyong source ng electricity ay through sitting, bakit po hindi nyo ito iimplement sa upuan ng sasakyan, Siguradong nakaupo lang ang tao at mas matindi ang force kung hindi gaanong smooth ang byahe? Suggestion lang po. hahahaha

 Maganda tong idea mo. I think kaya yan. Pwede ka makagenerate sa init ng puwet, sa talbok pag nalubak, etc.

 Salamat po sa pagsang ayon. Interesting po itong topic ni chuck4032 pero, May idea po ba kayo kung saan meron ng ceramic transducer at thermoelectric material, ba yun? dito sa Pilipinas at magkano po.

marame pong salamat sa mga reply at suggestions ninyo, sa ngaun po eh pinagpaliban muna namen ung pagdedecide kung saan iimplement etong project, either sa school/office or sa isang vehicle. Wala pa po kasi kaming mabilhan na mga materials. So does anyone here knows where we can buy the following materials, your help would be deeply appreciated  :

@onix, thanks for sharing that link, it gives us hope, especially now that we're struggling, our thesis is still FEASIBLE!

may circuit design na ba kayo kung paano nyo pagsasamahin yung output voltatage from piezoelectric at thermoelectric dahil malamang sa malamang ay magkaiba yan ng output.
