If you want faster output in good quality go for Sketchup Vray

If your client demands or you earn money in rendering go for MAX but time consuming.

If your works are for competition or per render basis use MAX.

3ds Max is a Beast.

But I'll suggest you go to Sketchup clients are ok with it.

Most workflow used

Autocad + Sketchup-Vray + PS

Autocad + 3ds Max + PS

or neglect the cad.
