help: how to make a frozen glass effect in vray for 3ds max.
pano po ba ung proper settings para po makagawa ng frozen glass effect. thanks po.
Re: help: how to make a frozen glass effect in vray for 3ds max.
lagyan mo lang ng noise sa bump. and adjust mo lang sa pinakamaliit then ok na yan.
Pwede mo gamitin sa frosted glass, smoked glass, colored glass etc, basta translucent. good luck!

Ito ung sample na ng settings na sinasabi ko bro. this is applicable to whatever glass material you are using right now.

One way to do the same is via glossiness in your refractions.

Mga SIr anong pgkaka iba nung kay sir Boks and kay V frosted MAT settings? which is better in rendering? kc napapansin ko mejo matagal ang rendering pag glass at displacement ang pinag uusapan. TIA po

The problem with bumps is that you'd need very high samples to smoothen the flickers arising from the miniscule bumps. While that may be the same for glossy refractions - you have that control over the materials. You can even use refractive interpolation for stills.

Hi Sir V how about the rendering? which is more faster? TIA marami po me natutunan sa mga experts thanks po

Re: help: how to make a frozen glass effect in vray for 3ds max.
I haven't tried a comparison as I deal mostly with animations, but it all boils down to how much the image has to be sampled. Bumps, highly detailed texture maps, glossies will be sampled by vray. So speed is determined by the samples. so it's another quality vs speed issue.
But if you are only going to do smoked glass or anything that would need glossy refractions - take a look at refractive interpolations. Thats a quick way to blur the refractions.
