Xata Bedroom + PSD File
Hi,
I did this personal project to practice Linear Work Flow, HDRI Lighting and Marvelous Designer for the cloth.
It took 20 hours to render this 3000x1689 image in my Quadcore-8 Gig Ram workstation.
Credits:
Software: 3D Studio Max 2011, Pixplant, Adobe Photoshop, Vray 2.0
3D Models: Evermotion, Archicg Plants, Design Connected
Ive tried recording my workflow in photoshop (day-night scene) using Camtasia but forgot to press record (agghh) so Im sharing the photoshop file instead, exclusive for CGPinoy members. You can download the file from the following link. Please note that the link will expire in 7 days. http://www.sendspace.com/file/56yl9v
Converted to a night scene in Photoshop, did it in 1 hour. Its not really good but it does the job sometimes.

nice one nil!..love the night scene..tanong ko lang kung almost same lighting ba yung dalwa? i can see the same trace of sunlight at the right corner and the intensity of reflection on the left side mirror nung night scene.

Salamat Ry, actually the same image lang talaga. Converted lang siya from day scene to night shot in Photoshop. Kaya sobrang fake, nyahahaha. Hindi na kaya ng pc ko, ang tagal magrender kaya sa Photoshop ko na ginawa.
Re: Xata Bedroom + PSD File
wow sir nilo! another masterpiece sir.
Ayos din yung night scene conversion, does the trick nga, pag nagmamadali.
Thanks for the psd file..mapag-aralan ko lang din ito ay okay na ako.

Hi Sir Ed, musta? Uu sir, ok din siya for rush convertion from day to night pero kung mai time pa, mas maganda talaga kung irender nalang. I hope the psd file helps.
Re: Xata Bedroom + PSD File
Hey dude prince, great renders!
As usual.
Regarding the night scene, I think it's quite cool.
But this would be a lot better when rendered, but then again I know
you already know that, it's still cool anyway, the way you made it in PS.
May I know why it took 20 hrs?
Is it because of the lighting or the meshes from MD?

Hi Sir,
Yes, its always better to render the night scene. I'll try to do some test using different HDRI's. About the rendering time, I think its the machine, its quite an old quadcore and Im pretty sure that im still using a standard vray settings. Or maybe because of my DMC sampler settings, min subdivs 1, max subdivs 100. I'll do some test and share the results.
Thanks for dropping by.
Re: Xata Bedroom + PSD File
100? this could be the reason.
15-25 for me is enough, at least for the ones I'm doing here in the office, because of time constraints.

ito, aral lang, at job hunting din..hehehe...mahirap ng konti sa pinas ngayon. You mentioned HDRIs, medyo kinakapa ko pa din sya upto now.
Share mo din mga tests mo, never tried messing with my DMC sampler settings yet or yun lang yung controllers ng vray rendering panel na di ko pa alam kung ano talaga ang gamit. Care to share a bit about that area?

Re: Xata Bedroom + PSD File
nice nilo, as always.
my opinion lang would be the 20 hours and 1 min 100 max. mejo overkill yata? and considering that it didn't solve the subtle artifacts behind the glass cabinet.
nevertheless im really amazed at what you guys can do with LWF. i have no idea why my LWF practices end up too washed out. so i suppose the secret to getting this kind of look is by applying a certain amount of PP after the LWF render (i took cue from mez's post process tutorial here http://www.cgpinoy.org/t22967-dining-ebony-pine-updated-settings)
the post process between the raw day render and the final day output - now that's something worth knowing here.

Great render, cool night scene conversion, max 100 subdivisions might be the reason for that 20 hours rendering time. MD is really amazing!
