i think the number of gates depend on the type of airport you are designing. kung domestic or international pati kung nasa urban or rural area. doon mo malalaman kung busy ba or hindi yung airport.

Wala ako mahanap sa net pero pwede ka magcompute for it.

Yung passengers per year mo, divide mo sa 365.

Kung ano man makuha mo, yun ang ratio per gate on a normal basis.

Meaning 992 passengers/gate ang ratio per day.

Meaning kayang mag double to triple ang capacity mo in a span of 10-20 years.

Either magkulang ka sa space or budget at wala ng expansion na mangyayari. althought, effiecient yun for some time. kasi full potential mo nagagamit, kaso malilimit ka lang to saa 5-10 years of operation.

for the floor area of the terminal, you may also start sa target na number of passengers per year mo..
for instance, 8,000,000 passengers a year. So 8,000,000 divided by 365 days. loading factor is 70% .
area per occupant sa international airport is 30 sqm; like NAIA

• Peak hour passenger: 8,000,000/365days= 21,917.81

21,917.81/24hrs= 913.24

913.24 x 0.70= 639.268

639.27 x 30 = 19,178.04 sqm.

minimum total area would be 19, 178 sq.m or approximately 2 hectares.
