NAIA is world's worst airport...AGAIN.

Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 has just been voted, again, as among the world's worst airport in a reader poll.

According
to travel website The Guide to Sleeping in Airports, NAIA tops the 2011
list of the world's least favorite when it comes to safety concerns,
comfort, and facilities.

Manila's NAIA Terminal 1 also topped the list for Asia's worst in 2010.

"Forget
about sleeping in this airport! You will not want to even close your
eyes here! Bribery and theft exists," the travel site said, alongside
contributed photos of the airport.

"Airport taxes are collected, but the money does not seem to go towards the betterment of the airport," it added.

The
site said poll results are determined by the following: "site visitor
votes; reviews submitted to the site over the past year; and information
provided by airports regarding their facilities."

Users cited
different concerns such as safety, airport staff attitude, the
availability of comfortable seating, the state of the facilities, and
poor access for people with long layovers.

The Guide to Sleeping
in Airports also pointed out drawbacks such as the lack of luggage
counters and pay-in lounges for transit passengers.

It also
lamented that NAIA prohibits travelers from entering the airport
premises three hours before their flight, a claim denied by a staff from
the Manila International Airport office.

The site also mentioned a ceiling collapse incident earlier this year.

But
if NAIA had "plus" points, it would be it's Free Public WiFi, and it's
Terminal 3 being “clean” and “spacious,” although reportedly
"structurally flawed."

Other "worst" airports in the list include
Paris Beauvais Airport, Keflavik Airport, Bergamo Orio al Serio
Airport, Kiev Airport, Frankfurt Hahn Airport, London Luton Airport,
Pisa Airport, Paris CDG Airport and the Los Angeles Airport.

Singapore's
Changi Airport meanwhile tops the list of the world's best with its
modern amenities and wonderful restaurants. It was also praised for
making the airport "fun."

Ok to, para ma-alarma ang gobyerno natin na kailangan na nga talaga tong ayusin.

Sa totoo lang, dapat ito ang binibigyan pansin ng pangulo natin. Pangalan ng tatay nya ito. Very ironic di ba?

When I was there, meron nga mga improvements. Pero parang nakurakot pa ang pera. Cheap tiles sa banyo. Halatado talaga. Sayang.

I agree nakakahiya man aminin but its true. Hindi lang mismo ang airport worst pati ang
mga tao na nasa loob nito worst Hindi lang ito tsismis totoo talaga kasi isa ako sa biktima
ng mga taong ito. Saan ka nakakita ng airport na ang dami dami mong dadaanan ONLY in
the Philippines hahahahah. May Owwa na dapat hindi sa airport ginagawa sagabal ang pila.
Tapos pag uwi mo ng pinas after ng baggage counter pag kuha mo may pila na naman.
After ng immigration kapag nakalusot ka na may isa pang mesa na mag inspeksyon ang mga
mokong.Bakit di pa sure yung Tatak nung una? Tapos matindi talaga ang lagayan.
Sabi ng mga nakatira sa ibang bansa kaya pala walang asenso ang pinas? Sa ibang bansang
airport sarap mag stay sa loob kasi subrang lamig ng AC pero dito sa NAIA sa loob pa
lang feel mo na ang Init grabe. Tapos Bagong Bayani daw ang mga OFW pero pag
pila mo sa immigration 4 or 5 lang nakabukas na counter sa haba haba ng pila
ang hirap mag hintay. Sa totoo lang hindi ako agree dun sa
dalawang pila lang ang haba haba ng pila? ang rason nila para sa mga visit visa na pumipila ulit...
Kaya yung iba apektado din kawaka ka lalo na kung kasama mo pamilya mo.
So I believe hanggat may mga tao na mga kurakot
at maling sistema sa loob hindi magiging maganda ang NAIA Airport.

Tama si Sir Boks name ng Tatay niya to kaya dapat isa sa unahin niya muna.

oo nga napaka un-organized inside and out..nakakahiya sa mga turistang dumarating first impression airport palang disgusting na agad..sikat na ang pinas sa mga world tour ng mga foreign artist like black eyed, american idol, lady gaga etc etc tulad nia justine bieber nilait niya airport bat daw ganun..ehehe..

nakakahiya man aminin eh panget na talaga NAIA..bat kasi hindi magsulong ang UAP ng architectural competition then isubmit nila sa malacanang..andame namang magagaling na arkitekto dito sa pinas mas nagagamit panga nila knowledge nila sa ibang bansa..dapat gumawa tayo ng sariling atin na mapagmamalaki naten hindi nalang lagi tayong nasa WORST list...at talagang masasabi naten talagang "IM PROUD TO BE PINOY" IMHO.

No problemo sa design, ang problem ay implementation at budget.

Such a shame. I often visit Manila for business and must say I always enjoy my visit ...apart from the bloody airport. Terminal 1 needs to be demolished. It is filthy, too small and WAY past its prime. Lines are insanely long, and I was shocked that I had to pay an airport tax for such a shithole. There were no toilet seats OR RUNNING WATER in the bathrooms! A big bucket with a dipper was by the front door and about four attendants hassled me for a tip. When I asked a security guard where the smoking area was he told me to follow him...and took me out on to the tarmac (so much for security) where he then insisted on a bribe before he let me back into the terminal. How does one say "no" to a security guard with a gun? Last time I was there I saw that the new terminal 3 has opened, but only for Philippine based airlines. Well, I do hope they hurry up and move the rest over there soon and burn terminal 1 to the ground.

Actually di pa talaga ako nakapunta ng terminal 1 kasi di pa kami nakakalabas ng country, kaya di rin ako makapagbigay ng feedback. Yung napupuntahan ko pa lang po e yung sa Terminal 3 which is maganda naman by far.

di ko alam bakit ganun ang ibang mga empleyado na yan. Pag labas ba nila ng airport at pag sila ay nasagasaan at na dedbol, madadala ba nila yung mga salaping yan sa kabilang buhay? hayyyy, yung ibang pinoy talaga....

dapat na talaga palitan ang naia.. lumang luma na... kelan pa ba tinayo to??..priority dapat nila ausin ang airport... ang airport parang landmark na ito ng isang country... dun mo makikita kung gaano kaunlad, kalinis, at gaano kaayos ang isang country... kay noynoy pangalan pa ng tatay niya yung airport... dapat isa ito sa priority niya pagandahin... its hard to admit pero nakakahiyang mabansagan worst airport ang bansa natin...
