on diffuse map parameters, change blur = 0

Hohum, Blur affects everything in the bitmap, so if the blur appears everywhere then perhaps ronel is correct.

If it appears far away from the camera, then my maxbrain pea tells me - it must have to do with filtering.

Filtering is a max feature since long ago to anti-alias color details that go beyond one single pixel.

My initial reaction would be to change the filtering method to Summed Area from the default Pyramidal (you'll find that in the Mat Ed>Bitmap>Bitmap parameters section.
