Re: Gent's Majlis
find the ceiling heavy in wood. how about just plain white?
it seems to have a liiiittttle lampshades overkill, i think....hehehe
just thought you'd have a hard time finding a floor socket for that
and the white lamp's exposed cables won't look good at all in reality...
re the style - tones and some curves gives somewhat feminine feel to it...
but glad that you took away the accent stone wall coz it looks hypnotic to me?
but as often is the case - for this project's overall design and rendering,
HIGH FIVE in advance!
btw, where has shifu gone????

I agree. however, the timber ceiling is cultural in this part of the world. this is our rendition of the artesonado which is of a Mudéjar origin. to counter the heaviness, (but appears ineffective), I've used a dark rug.

the hall is divided into 4 sitting areas so, I guess, the number of lamps is just right?

taking another closer look... i think you're right on the 'feminine feel'. my palusot, however, is that the intent was to create a neutral, genderless space. i didn't realise that i was moving more on the barbie side... AW! 'guess, I have to change the furniture!

Re: Gent's Majlis
nah, not really leaning towards barbie-dandy all the way...[oh my g!] ahaha
it's perhaps merely my personal association with that scheme...
and i think i'm confusing you now... to change or not to change furniture?
[just love playing half devil's advocate here] ahaha hope it'll get approved
coz the so-called "palusot" has in a way helped me connect the dots between
the design concept, the client's culture / the room's function. appreciate it,man!
and after the gripping wips, the wait is over....
[got this running in the back of my mind, actually] ehe
love the first - the largest among the images you've got! NICETY

thanks bing...
i'd like to freeze the ceiling but probably change it to burma teak. i'm thinking of altering the floor to dark timber or dark-grey terazzo. i hope this would balance the scene.
and, YES! i'm changing the furniture!

Re: Gent's Majlis
nice scene..congrats for an EA..
-material sa lamp on the left side looks weird ganun ba talaga? para kasing kandila IMO or just over expose lang sa light.. also the lamp table yung legs niya too flat ang material niya, is it made of bronze?
-ok naman yung light sa loob mo pero bakit ganun ang chandelier maiitim siya.. I think it wont fit sa ceiling if black siya.. mas maganda yata sir if white IMO lang naman..
-yung ceiling in wood is ok.. mas maganda siguro to balance it is to have wood also sa wall up to 1.20 meter from FFL or some darker furniture.
but then approve na ito.. i guess you satisfy the client wants.. good job..

- material ng lamp is transluscent onyx. Black is associated with power, elegance, & formality. Actually, It is a mod version of a classic chandelier. Yung white crystal, sa ladies namin gagamitin.
- that is actually what I had in mind. Change the leather material to dark brown para mabalanse.
- malakas ang convincing power ni bosing! Aside from the ceiling, everything is ok with them. Designwise, light ceiling balances the space. Hindi mabigat tingnan.
