[HELP] how to reduce polygons Empty [HELP] how to reduce polygons

Good day to all, Gusto ko lang sir itanong kung ano pa ang ibang way para mareduce yung polygons kasi may 200k ang polygons ng model ko, modeled in autocad and exported in 3ds max. may plugins ba na magpapareduce nito? kahit demo lang sir, natry ko na kasi yung prooptimizer sa 3ds max naging around 150k lang yung model, at pwede po ba i-apply ng dalawang beses yung modifier na prooptimizer sa isang object???

try:
1. polycruncher (plug-ins)
2. optimize (3dmax modifier)
3. multi-res (3dmax modifier)

note: for the two modifier, dont forget to tick Preserve UVs before applying the modifier

thanks for the quick reply sir rendermaster,is this polycruncher a free plugin? at pwede ba magapply ng dalawang beses na modifier sa isang model? kunyari prooptimizer dalawang beses sa isang model?

puede naman, kaya lang iyong mesh deformation medyo affected ang texturing mo. there are other ways to handle models, instancing, proxies. sometimes reducing polygons is not advisable at all especially if you are aiming for a decent render of your models

ahh ganon po ba sir? kasi ganito po yung development ko...resort po siya at kukuhanan ko sana ng aerial view, mga 6 na building types po siya at prinoxy ko po yung mga villas ko kasi madami...pero ang isang building ko is 200k plus ang polygons niya. ano po ang pwede niyong maadvice sakin sir medyo mabagal na ang viewport ko at ang rendering ko wala pa pong puno yan ano po ang maari kong gawin para malessen ang burden ko sa paggawa nito?

ung galing sa cad bro import mo sa max tpos eexport mo ngaun save as 3ds or obj format maleless din kasi ung bigat nya, tpos pag nakakaencounter ka ng 600mb pataas na gamitin mo reactor tapos under ng reactor collision tpos clear mo lang hope it helps GODBLESS

sige sir noted yan maraming salamat i'll try it bago pa lang sa 3ds max eh.. maraming salamat sa walang sawang pagtulong sana may thanks na button dito at lagi ko itong iki-click. tanong ko lang sir yung 10k bang budget sa poly counter ay dapat hanggang dun lang yung polycount ng model mo o pwede lumagpas dun? hindi ba magdudulot ng mabagal na rendering ito kapag mataas ang polycount? pasensiya na kayo Smile

may work flow noong ginagawa ko ang isang community development, compose of 2 commercial blocks, 4 na school, government office. 4 mosques and around 300 houses ( 10 diffirent models).

- i subdivde the whole area into 6 components scene.
compose each scene separately and use xref scene.

- i did not put more bump and glossies on texturing since its an aerial shot. bump is negligeble. i just apply it on the roads.

- trees, cars and peoples are all rpc, instance copied for distribution.

- for the models which i already set its position, i make it as view as box, so medyo magaan ang viewport movement ko.

- since my computer is just P4, i use render region for each blocks, i loaded only the portion that are visible to my region selection.

in your case, i dont know if this is applicable but you may try.

its just 6 files merge into one scene through xref....bago mo i-xref ang isang scene kumpletohin mo muna ang materials nya.
