Workstation PROS & CONS? confuse...

tanong ko lang sa mga nakaka alam. (para malinawan tayo lahat)

ano po ba pag kaka iba ng branded workstation sa custom workstation? advantages & dis-advantages

branded workstation advantage = warranty and package discount kapag maramihan ang order?

branded workstation disadvantage = rip-off on your money, pag open mo makikita mo na tinipid ang ibang parts, example... 16GB with lower clock speed and not good brand ram will never be the same sa 16GB with higher clock speed and good brand ram.

custom-built/assembled advantage = you have total control on every parts or components.

custom-built/assembled disadvantages = you should have the courage and knowledge how to assemble and select components. it's not that hard really but if you spend money na talagang pinilit mong ipunin para lang makabuo ka e talagang mapapaisip ka...
= hindi totoo ang sinasabi na mas makakamura ka kung mag-assemble ka na lang... why? kasi dahil sa kapipili ng kapipili most of the time you will end up buying more expensive item than your original plan... per item kasi ang budget

Maganda sa branded ang warranty at services. Convenient siya. Pero some IT offices are making the inconvenience lalo na pag substandard ang trabaho nila.

Sa custom built naman, makakamura ka talaga. Lalo na pag techie ka, alam mo pasikot sikot. Ibang iba ang savings. Makikita mo talaga.

yes, true na pag branded, typical na marip off ka sa ibang parts at wala ka magagawa kasi package deal siya. pero yun nga mas secured dahil may aasahan kang warranty pag nasira but it will still depend sa quality of service ng mga manufacturer.

pag assembled, you have the freedom to choose according to your budget at mas wide ang range ng parts na pwede mong gamitin. sa tingin ko rin mas mura yun dahil pag branded binabayaran mo rin yung brand(redundant).

branded din na matatawag ang assembled pards... iba't-iba nga lamang... from processor to power supply you can select good brands... mac is only good because of colors in my opinion... i used mac as far as i can remember, it was G5... and i was impressed by it's monitor, very crisp and vibrant but other than that... it's a big NO for me...

siguro sir kaya nila nasabi na makakamura ka kung same specs ang icocompare mo, syempre mas mura ang assemble pag ganun,

parang ung auto mo lang din yan, sir bicolano...

- mas magara yung mags at upholstery... [monitor]
- mas astig ang suspension, cylinder head and cam shaft [memory & mother board]
- mas kumakagat ang brakes and radiator [safety & cooling system]
- mas matindi ung engine displacement and air density [vid card]
- mas efficient ang fuel consumption and turbo charger... [hard drive]
- mas revamped ang subwoofer ng stereo system and , etc, etc...

diba, halos pareho lang... mura na mahal... depende sa budget
yung pag determine ng compatibility lang ang nahihirapan ako...

M_Shadows: sakto, kaya naitanong ko ito kasi im confuse for proper combination (like tuning) na tatakbo siya exactly for the architecture (software) of our common use 3D software. I have doubt kasi na hindi lang basta naka quadro ay ok na. some forums they agree na yung GTX is better in quadro, others dont.

Sa current RIG ko naman,medyo may pinag iba mula nung gumamit ako ng SSD. bumilis sya mag boot, pero ramdam ko na medyo bumagal yung browsing file from HDD. parang mas comportable ako sa dating combination ng RIG ko.

BOXX is claiming that they have the best tech support, but I doubt its only good in US areas. pano pala pag sa pinas ang location?

last night I install the max design 2012. tingin ko medyo bumigat yung viewport (GTX295) due to realistic features.
pinag lalaruan ko na kasi yung current rig ko because Im preparing to setup a mini studio.

wait natin iba pang opinion ng mga experienced CGPeeps.
(sana meron mag share from visualization studio) calling hotrod of 3dstormstudio. hehe

(exactly kaya minsan napapatanong ako bakit kailangan nila degrade yung clock speed or they have proper studies of combination of specs for the specific software or due to pricing purposes only)

(tama ka sir, kaya doubt ako sa BOXX kung sa pinas ko ilalagay yung studio, if they will be able to support me when the time my team is in the middle of the projects tapos nagloko yung system)

(agree for a big savings specially kung (5-10rigs) ang laki ng savings )
on the other hand, branded is also good points for marketing.

agree, for me Mac is only good in monitor. coz its crazy to buy mac when all we want is to install windows.

http://www.hexus.net/ is a great site para mabawasan ang doubts mo... i haven't use quadro kasi gamer din ako kaya i prefer gtx. I am using SSD also and nothing beats it sa pabilisan based on my previous setups. I installed my OS and all other programs sa SSD. No need to defragment it and have a habit of leaving at least 1/4 of the total space sa drives mo. I think most of the US products sagot mo ang shipment and taxes kapag ibinalik mo if you want to claim warranty and rebate, but that is if the problem cannot be solve by remote nor online assistance and trouble shooting. you have a very very good rig bro, hindi kaya you are expecting for more kaya nababagalan ka sa setup mo? try mong gumamit ng medyo mababa ng kahit kaunti ang spec sa setup mo and you will appreciate your rig 100%. your computer should be fine too even in 3dsmax 2012. anong result ng windows experience index mo? dyan pa lang kasi makikita mo na kung malakas pc mo bro. goodluck sa mini-studio mo.

pag personal use i guess okay talaga yung assymble, on the other hand yung branded may warranty, pero is it worth it?
