Cok3s Zbrush Sketches and wips
just though I'd start another sketchbook for my zbrush sculpts.
Thought I'd post a few just to start things up
Random sculpt from sphere, no ref just to test myself... I really need to do more lifedrawing and research
a sculpt I did while following a video tutorial by nick zuccarello, ended up straying off from the tutorial and sculpting a cartoon character from one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid
a concept sculpt that I did, just to add to my application to lucasanimation which has yet to be sent due to my fear of rejection....
more to come soon. hope this keeps me motivated to keep sculpting and playing with this cool program

Re: Cok3s Zbrush Sketches and wips
pare! Apply ka na sa lucas! I will try and recommend you. As far as I know, we are still looking for hardsurface modellers and animators. Punta ka sa site nila and pumasa kana. Don't worry about rejection, lahat tayo dumaana dyan, ako nga eh more than 10x na reject pasa pa rin ng pasa... ahahahaa
Re: Cok3s Zbrush Sketches and wips
hahah I've tried dude, main problem seems to be they don't know where to put me. I do illustration but i love 3d as well. I do alot of zbrush sculpts but none of them are textured and I'm not so good at polymodelling. Currently working on that though, learning 3dsmax for my polymodelling, and will have some textured models for my next folio. I'll never stop drawing and painting though. Congrats on getting accepted at Lucasfilm pare, looking forward to seeing their latest projects with your name on the credits.
In the meantime this is what I'm working on for the Gnomon monthly contest. Supposed to be a pinup girl so she's more of the curvy bootilycious type. Proportions are a little stylized, but if it is bothering u guys too much then dont' hesitate to give me some critiques, I'd really appreciate them
some color tests with zbrush matcap and polypaint

Heres the finals for the sculpt. Ran out of time for the competition as I couldn't work on this one full time. Heres what i've submitted. still alot of corrections needed to be made anatomically so I'll continue this one during my free time.

Re: Cok3s Zbrush Sketches and wips
Holy moley bro! Kewl sculpts! Sabi mo di ka masyadong into poly modeling, ano ba gamit mo na base mesh dito sa mga characters mo Zspheres?? Nvertheless, they're really impressive. Kung zbrush talaga specialty mo, i think u should start learning retopologizing your sculpts para makagawa ka ng animation ready meshes.
Re: Cok3s Zbrush Sketches and wips
BlackTotorot - hahah i'm hardly that, but thx for the compliment
Draftbeer80 - thx bro! my background is Illustration so I'm not so good at the polymodelling side. I'm now learning how to use 3dmax as I make my transition to the animation/games industry. I've tried retopologizing in zbrush. Its great for some things, but I feel creating a mesh in 3dsmax or maya is just so much faster. Either that or I'm just really not doing it right hahah.
Anyways heres another concept sculpt. this time its a full body.
A concept sculpt. Of Piccolo. My version of the design for the movie. I've tried the giant turban on his head, the humongous brow muscles, the purple pants and blue sash from the comics. Turned out looking like a genie vampire from hell. Some things look great in 2d but just don't work in 3d I think. So I stopped looking at the reference. My current design still doesn't work in my opinion but I like it better than what they've currently got for the live action feature. I'm thinkin they should have made it completely cg animated, without trying to ground things to reality. And it would have been awesome. Awesomer than awesome even. And it would kick epic amounts of ass.
