Re: Basic Photography
We don't know how basic is your photography knowledge, but i guess learning the basics of photography could be divided into 3 stages... (assuming we are starting from zero)
1st - would be knowing your camera and lens.
You should know by heart the functions of the buttons and the features your camera has to offer.
Sometimes going thru the menus itself is overwhelming.
2nd - Technical aspect, Now that you know your camera and lens, you should study how an image is taken.
Know what is aperture, shutter speed, ISO and how it affects the image.
You should learn about exposure, the relationship of Aperture with Shutter Speed, ISO.
Exposure compensation to reading the histogram as a guide of knowing correct exposure.
3rd - studying the Art of Photography... Framing, Composing, Lighting and etc.. etc...and i would say Post Processing.
Even the great Ansel Adams do extensive post processing in his darkroom just to come up with stunning images.
In short this is a stage wherein you translate your technical knowledge into outstanding image... a piece of art hopefully...
Actually having a solid knowledge of the 1st 2 stages is a good foundation, that way you'll just concentrate snapping awesome images.
I think it is redundant to post tutorials here since we have lots of it flooding the net.
Maybe we'll just post links of the great tutorials...
Good Photography Books
And of course those little tips & tricks will be awesome.
