Canon-Nikon Experience
Experience ko lang po ito, gusto ko lang i-share....i bought Canon 450d two years ago for beginners like me and that's my first dslr, pero nung nagtatagal marami na akong natutunan may nag advice sakin na try ko daw nikon mas ok daw....open naman ako e so i tried nikon d90 last december lang...for a short period of time, honestly malaki ang pagkakaiba sa canon 450 ko...meaning nahihirapan akong gamitin kahit pagaralan ko yung function niya...i decided na ipagbili na lang at balik ulit ako sa Canon...and right now i have new Canon 7D...and duo ng old Canon 450D ko...mas na-appreciate ko siya ngayon, ..sorry po sa mga Nikon user ha...para sa kin lang po ito...peace brother

I'm a proud Canon 550D user myself, though I want to try nikon in the future, but for now, okay na sa akin to. They say its the man behind the camera, agree po ako dun, kahit iphone nga e, pdeng pwede na. PS na lang sa huli. Peace!

Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
Ako din canon user. I think depende talaga yan sa tao. Kung saan ka sanay. It has nothing to do with the camera.
Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
disparities are not so obvious actually with their capabilities..i bought mine(canon)coz it says in the label "made in japan"

Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
in fact i have more canon than nikons:
- canon eos88 (film)
- canon a95
- canon a560
- nikon d80
- nikon d700
- sony dcr trv33 (video)
when i use a canon i don't expect it to perform like a nikon (and vice versa). i always think that whatever i use i should maximize to get the best out of it. i used to envy my boss who owns an older rebel than my d80 and i find my shots were not as good. but i never put the blame on my gear coz i know my skills were too far from his yet.

Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
i used both of them. i got my D90 before na pinagbili ko. then i bought a new one. Canon 60D. I am very happy with it so far. like tutik said, in the end its not really the camera its about the scene and lighting and how you capture it. the question bakit ko pinagbili, well dahil gustong subukan ang canon. hehehehe. malay mo balik na namang nikon kapag nagsawa na ako.

Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
canon experience:
my first ever digital camera was an ixus 4mp point and shoot. during a few of
my photoshoots with some friends i had the chance to hold the canon 5d
mark ii and the canon 1d - and i'd say these models are really good at video - something that nikon has yet to perfect. if i haven't invested a lot on the nikon system
(bodies and lenses) already, i wouldve ended up as a canon user as well.
nikon experience:
i am a solid nikon user. my first dslr was a nikon d40 because at that time, siya na ang pinaka affordable. then i bought a d90, but somehow i wasn't as happy with it compared to the d40. hence, nung lumabas ang d7000, i sold the d90 and replaced it with the d7000.
i think the difference has to be the way you handle the equipment. everyone can say it's not about the camera, but in certain instances, it's what you are familiar with. for example - one has to be quick on the menu systems and which buttons to press - dahil pag anjan na ung photo op, ika nga ni ninoy, "you have to be very fast with your camera. otherwise in a few seconds it could be all over."
another factor is the familiarity with how the lenses rotate. the zoom rotation of the lenses for both nikon and canon are oriented differently.
so since sa nikon na ako nasanay, then i'll stick with it until i would have enough time and dough to invest in another system.

Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
Canon user here before 450D and 50D. Then I switched to Nikon D90. Versus 450D IMO, D90 is till easier coz of the dedicated Apperture and Shutter dials front and back, while 450D needs to press a bottom to adjust apperture setting. Anyway it's all about personal prefence. I also love the handling and ergonomic in Nikons .
Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
Canon has a big advantage in Philippines in terms of after sales service and support because of Canon Phil, while Nikon is still under Columbia.

i've read in another phil-based forum that Columbia's service is superb!

Re: Canon-Nikon Experience
450D Canon user din ako, I've notice sa Nikon ng friend ko merong editing photos capabilities ang Nikon kahit low-end. Pero sa 450D na Canon ko wala nun. Hindi ko lang alam sa mga bagong labas na Canon kung meron din. But still I like them both. They have their own strength that cannot compare to other brands.
