Rubicon Studios Manila is currently seeking experienced key talent for upcoming long format CG (Maya) projects. These positions are expected to start in late March / early April, and are full time contract positions for up to 12 months and are based in Manila, Philippines.


Supervising Character TD: Responsible for the technical requirements of the character assets; design, develop and manage rigs and tools for characters; resolve any rigging and enveloping issues that may arise; develop and maintain proprietary tools, plug ins and scripts; create Python scripts for automation; and assist in the development of the production pipeline.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years professional experience in CG environment, preferably in long format production
  • Working knowledge of geometry creation, weighting and skeleton rigging
  • Working knowledge of character rigging methodologies and solid understanding of automating processes for animation rigging
  • Anatomical knowledge and good artistic skills
  • Production knowledge of UNIX / Linux, procedural and object orientated programming languages, Maya, Python and MEL
Senior Technical Director: Focusing on the design and development of production pipeline and work flow procedures, responsibilities will also include working with pipeline engineers to develop new production systems. Ideal candidate should be proficient with technical issues in a Maya environment, including particles, cloth, fluids and hair.

Qualifications:


  • 4+ years of CG experience in series or feature film environment, stereoscopic experience a strong asset
  • Professional experience with C/C++, UNIX / Linux
  • Strong knowledge of Python, MEL scripting, render processes for Mental Ray or Renderman
  • Experience with revision control systems and designing guis
Offline Editor: Experienced offline animation editor to create animatics from storyboards; work with Supervising Directors to create timed story lines and create offline assemblies to final picture for post production partners, using Final Cut Pro.

Qualifications:


  • 4+ years as an offline editor, preferably with diverse animation experience
  • Experience with ProTools, Soundtrack, Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, Harmony, Maya preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of diverse file formats and post production work flows
  • Excellent communication skills to develop story lines
  • Ability to work with team members from diverse disciplines and cultures
