help: understanding uv mapping and displacement.

pa delete nalng po pag may post na na ganto.
mga bossing tanong ko lang po pano po ba gumawa ng displacement sa max?
meron akong nakitang software like crazybump pero may bayad eh. wala bang ibang paraan?
cka meron po bang tutorial na gawa ng member natin sa pag gamit ng uv mapping.(para tagalog, hehe!) mejo mahirap intindihin ung part na to sakin eh. ung pag color ng skin at ung paraan para ma uv map? noob po talga eh pag dating sa ganto.
maraming salamat po.

ask ko lang mga masters,... ano po usually nilalagay na displacment value,..para ndi siya maxadong matambok,..kasi mnsan, kahit 1 lang ung nakalagay na value,..nasisira ung texture...kelangan iedit ulit sa PS un?

its a matter of trial and error. try it for your self, ala namang specific value and it depends how you like texture/model to look at. we normally we try it in a simple object bago isalang sa main scene.

You end up doing trial and error if you do not know the dimensions of the object you're trying to displace. The value you put in there is in max units. So of course, if you are displacing an object that is 1X1X1 cm in size with a value of 10 units (cm, ) then of course you'll end up with an extremely messed up render.
