stereoscopy and anaglyphical imagery has been around for quite some time stretching back decades, mostly used in cinema.

the recent hype on 3D TV, movies and games having been done in 3D breathed new life on the process and opened up new ways of application, including in the field of 3d visualization.

it just adds in another dimension in presenting a project.
I honestly think utilized right, stereoscopy has a great future in visualization.

It seems to me after the avatar film, more and more rendering engine and 3d apps have revive to render "stereoscopic views"- stereoscopic view are anaglyph image that is 3D image for reb-blue glasses, and creates interleave image that is 3D image for LC-shutter glasses, from your stereo photograph pair.

there was the same discussion at sketchucation about this matter. and i will be using resources from them.

the concept is like this image below.

Basically cross your eyes till you get a third 3D image in the middle of the two images on the screen.

now the generation 3d tv's are here.. will the computer monitors follow. or even demo reels? i am speculating that this craze will happen again... so render enthusiast will we present our render using cyan and red glasses?

this is actually not an old concept. but with creation of high sensitive softwares. the feeling of dizziness will be gone soon. so i guess this old 3d will be revived again.

sayang wala ako 3d glasses, pero im sure maganda to

Nice one sir. Meron ako nitong type na glass tinatago ko kase baka magamit ko sa pagawa nang virtual 3d image sa mga render ko. ito nung trinay ko sa image mo dito astig sir napahanga ako. Lupit vrtual 3d talaga para lang nanonood ka sa imax kaso still image lang. Wait ko animated still na may ganito effect sir. Galing.
