sir bakugan, kaya siya black dahil sa default material ng cad, kung ita try nyo pong yung i drop sa objects na na import nyo from cad you can see na ang material niya is autodesk generic, ang solution ko naman sa akin from the import roll out ng max and then sa derive Autocad premitives ginagawa kong entity. Very Happy

That's what you called NORMALS yan ang other side ng face or polygon, pag nag import ka ng model from autocad sometimes baliktad ang faces, maraming ways para ma solve ang problem na yan .. try to select one of the object you've just imported, tapos apply ka shell command makikita mo na nagkaroon sya ng color hindi na itim. isa pang way is to convert it into polygon tapos select the polygon then click flip command .. try to test create ka BOX inside 3dsmax if you notice sa labas ng box meron color try to go inside the box its black meaning your inside the normals side of the box same then ang concept na yan sa model mo na imported from autocad , hope naka help.

I agree with normals maybe it could help.but not the smart solution if you have hundred objects with this problem. Try if maybe your viewport shading caused. Hope to here from others too.

My quick solution; select all imported cad objects and apply white material... No more black stuff.

Master Ericktorio's proper way; while linking, tinker with the "preset" tab... Choose from one of the presets available. Voila, you got your fancy colors.
