Thanks for dropping by manong...pahiram ng pc para matapos nato.ehhehehe
Re: Kuchen Journal Animation (PART I) updates
First, here's a few sugegstion:
1. If you would like to highlight your skills as a modeler, it helps to get rid of evermotion because they look like evermotion, meaning they were made by somebody else. That will be contrary to that claim below the screen, "modeling, rendering and compositing by reygerali"
try to scoop up photos from the net and model them yourself.
2. Unless there is some extraordinary elements (except for camera moves) that were character animated, do not overhilight them with the claim below the screen. Same goes for compositing if you aren't really putting one render element over the other in post. You do not write them down when it can easily be seen from the whole sequence. I'ts overemphasis and it's not what I see on the animation.
If you want to highlight, animation - show some animation not just camera moves. If you want your compositing skills noticed show some stuff where it could be easily picked up.
Lastly, it would make more sense to reverse the animation instead of locking the cam on a book or silver bowl. The first and the last (specially the last) frames of the animation are the most important one. By highlighting an important part of the kitchen in the last few frames - you are tying your theme to what you are showing in the seqence.
Don't just be a renderer, be a storyteller.

Thats what I am waiting for.. Thanks a lot v_wrangler. everything make sense to me and are also noted. I wish i have enough time for modeling like the fruits though its not impossible for me to model that way. Your right maybe its over overemphasis, Im not sure what to put there or maybe i will remove it...but did not intend to claim it. heehhehe. Storytelling is what a lot for me that needs to improve. Once again thanks for dropping by and thats really helps a lot..
Re: Kuchen Journal Animation (PART I) updates
The only thing stopping you is the will.
If you think you can, and you decide to make time and you can imagine what you want to make or model, then it will always be possible.
I mentioned reversing the animation because it makes sense to start the framing from something unrelated like a bowl or a stack of books and slowly pan the camera or focus them to a final element in the kitchen, the sink, a water fixture or a even the coffeemaker.
If I was doing this - I'd even put the coffee maker to life by setting it on and maybe animate the tiny bits of smoke coming from the cup...
the concept as always, is to emphasize the purpose of why the kitchen is an essential part of the profession you practice. That is to support good living - and that is "there is life" in the virtual surroundings you create,
there goes some ideas..
good luck!

Re: Kuchen Journal Animation (PART I) updates
Thank you again Mr.V for coming back. but for now ill stick to that model first or maybe i will just modify a bit, well to save time also hehhehe. I like your suggestion about reverting the animation. I'm also preparing something for the rest of the scenes to incorporate some of the smoke and moist as what you saw in the teaser. I'm also thinking of adding time-lapse to simulate the sunlight effects. not sure if it will work...
Currently i'm rendering the second scene. Im trying to optimized my rendering speed to 4mins /per frame with pre-calculated maps. since im only using dual core. This for my personal work did after work only.
Thanks you for the encouragement..

Re: Kuchen Journal Animation (PART I) updates
Rey, wag kang magmadali. You'd rather have something very cool that took time than have something so quick that is below par.
Well, below par my taste. (It is up to you to even consider them)
If you incorporate models that were premade or just edited by you, it shows that you do not have the skills nor the will to show what you yourself is capable of.
I have seen that fruit bowl model a couple of times and if I'd pretend I was scouting for people on my team - you'd be the last on the list because I know for such a simple shape - you did not have the courage nor the will to take the challenge to spend a day to model them. What more if I would have to ask you to model something complicated? Would you forego the challenge because you lacked time? Time will always be less, what makes you fast is the skill. This is your chance to tell yourself you aren't just a renderer. This is also the chance for you to build your skill as a modeler.
Forgive the insistence , I just couldn't for the life of me accept the fact that for such a simple stuff - and all the minuses that goes with it, you'd still go on. Sayang.
Anyways, the choice is yours. I'll just be here watching.

Tama si V on reversing the sequence of the video. Napagisip isip ko din yun after the comment. Impressive yung teaser para sa akin. Since ngayon ko lang nakita ang ganito sa mga gawa mo. Yung still needs more work lalo na dun sa whole scene shots, but the video is very good. Good luck on this one.
Saka kaya ka kinukulit ni vertex is because ang laki ng potential bro. I can see it myself.

Re: Kuchen Journal Animation (PART I) updates
Neil hit it right in the head!
You've got very good potentials and I will make kulit to you as long as it takes. As long as you are able to finally show the world not only what you are capable of doing now but also what you can do in the future!
Goodluck!

Re: Kuchen Journal Animation (PART I) updates
Isa pang suggestion not just to rey but to others who might want to do the same thing. I believe that most of the problem brought about by the so called "lack of time" is poor planning.
Unang una, you will never have enough time - you will always have less of it.
First, stroyboard your sequence.
Two, use animatics, using simple models as stand in and then preview rendered without all those textures and GI and all the bells and whistles. The purpose of the animatics is for you and your audience to get a feel of the whole sequence. To give you an idea of the parts that might need to be removed, added or reworked on without spending or doing useless renders.
Once you have a good animatic, that's the time for you to use the final models, textures, final character or element animations and render them. This saves time without you rendering out sequences of frames that will never even see the final print.
Planning is everything!
