Some of my Mental Ray Interior.part2

Hi peeps! just updated only for my folio. these are one of my updates..this time, i used LWF (linear workflow) gamma 2.2-bitmap input/output=1.8 in Mental Ray..still practicing on this engine..hope you like this guys...thanks and more power CGP!

as i remember, almost 1 hr..1 min yung G.I., mga 35-40 mins ang FG, ang final render mga almost 20 mins po..

ang AO is a separate pass, para dagdag depth and contact shadows between chairs and floor..kasi nakalimutan ko i-tweaked and arch&des shader special effects tab AO..because it is an LWF, i just pumped up the curved gamma kasi once na-open na ito sa ps masyado madilim ang image, at the same time, di nasira ang image..trees? jpeg background lang yan, nagustohan ko rin kaya ginawa ko siyang background..

heheh, sa ofis ko lang ito ginawa, kaya di ko mapost mga setting tabs ko dito..next time lang bro kung may time pa ako..pero i-share ko rin sayo mga settings ko in words..

LIGHTING.

just a simple default daylight manually set based sa background image (esp. shadow cast direction), and add some mr sky portals 32 shadow samples at the right side window openings and a fill light at the left side of the camera..default lang lahat bro..

SHADERS.

all of them are Arch & Des shaders, optimized for MR images, for blurry reflection-objects, glossy samples=24-32. with turned on special effects tab (AO and round corners to para di mo na kailangan i-chamfer mga edges).

GAMMA/LUT.

linear workflow (LWF) gamma=2.2 bitmap input/output=1.8..press 8 or go to preferences to adjust your gamma..after you tweaked the adjustments, restart max..

FG/GI.

GI photon map, default except max. sample radius=750mm (my units is millimeters) just convert it if you are using other units..ave. photons per light=40000..

FG, medium preset but the interpolate over fg tweaked it to 150 max..(personally, 100 talaga ang limit ko pero dahil may splotches pa, i pumped it up until the splotches are gone)..noise=high.

IMAGE SAMPLING.

min=1 max=64, lacnoz filter.

METHOD??

para di ma-choked yung RAM mo, kasi palagi ngka-crashed ang MR, first generate photon disk according to your settings. after you generate it, save your .pmap and checked the box read/write. before you do it, you must turn off your FG first..next, turn on your FG, saved after generate .fgmap. checked the box read/write and freezed your FG map..lastly, press f9 or shift+q and relax...nothing more, nothing less..just a standard workflow lang bro..
