urgent help on Hi-res images
question ko po e eto:
1. ano ba sir ang pinakamaliit na resolution pag sinabing hi-res images? and what file type? PNG? JPG? or TIF?
2. given na po na core 2 duo yung pc... may mga tricks or workflow ba kayo on how to produce a hi-res image? 3dsmax or PS?
Salamat in advance.....!

Re: urgent help on Hi-res images
go to rendering menu -->> Print Assistant. kalikutin mo lang doon sir. nariyan kung paano i set ang right sizes. ask mo iyong boss mo kung ano ba ang target nyang paper size, para maset mo dyan.

Re: urgent help on Hi-res images
sir stryk, ito pwede nyong gawin:
1. pwede stitch yung render. by region

Re: urgent help on Hi-res images

I do not know why you aren't encountering any problem but this workflow is both correct and wrong.
Resolution and Pixel size are like cousins. In order to have a printer acceptable resolution, you'd need a render size that is big enough. So what is big enough to be acceptable as hi-res when printed?
Hi resolution in printing is measured in DPI (dots per inch). To have something crisp and sharp when printed the usual DPI is 300 or 300 dots per in inch square.
In the example above, 800 X 600 pixels will translate to a sharp image in a size of 2 inches height. Quite small for an a4 size or an A3 print.
To compute the pixel resolution for an A4 size, multiply the size of the paper to 300 dots (for 300 dpi) so if its an 8.5 inch X 11 inch short bond, the resulting pixel size will be the resolution you must render.
Since MAX renders aren't printing resolution ready, you must bring that to PS and change the resolution from the default 72 to 300 and resave the file.
To ease in the computation, there's a Printing Assistant utility in MAX that you can use to determine the final rendering size in MAX.
To answer the orignal post by stryker, if your machine isn't capable of rendering straight to the desired size, either you render them half in MAX and scale in PS or use scaling plugins like the one mentioned above.
