First topic message reminder :
hi guys pa post ulit, pinagmamalaki kong inihahandog itong aking bagong gawa na minodel ko sa 3ds max 2011 halos lahat ng components sa max ko na ginawa, tiniis kong di mag CAD... hehehe. except for the flowers with vase, carpet (downloaded at www.bokkins.com, and ung teapot with cup and saucers (by Evermotion AM) and the rest, max modeled na. Thanks ngapala ke super idol master Arkiedmund for the CD tutorial na carefully picked para sa mga baguhan sa modeling and to Norman a.k.a. F41 for the online tips and tricks. And to Jerome a.k.a Pugot Ulo for the pang aasar and live crits... hehehe

Re: Latest Interior Practice (Updated with pillow tutorial link)
Like I mentioned in the past, I just don't dig a boiling hot teapot without a plate to support the heat between the pot and the table surface. Isa pa, you don't really serve something smoking hot like that.
The absence of bevels on your books takes away the realism.
Are those japanese cups or the european ones, without showing the ring where you hook up your fingers makes me think theyre japanese but they pretty big for me to ride on with the illusion.
This confusion can be remedied by "always" putting in an object that we all know and can recognize. Like a cigarrette pack or a lighter or even a size AA battery. The purpose of this object is to be a "trigger". This serves as a visual reference for the scale of the scene and the drama you want to project.
I would probably move that thing behind the pot for it serve no purpose in the second image rather than destroy the silhoutte of the green sakura pot.
As for the colors, to each his own but it's just a little saturatedly bland for me. I would prefer a combination of two or three hues. Same goes for the pillows. The choice of colors in the interior will project the coordinating skills of the interior designer. I just feel a little ackward with regards to the "staged" angle. From where I look at, they seem to be too "bukaka" (sorry I am at a loss for words right now). The verticals converging in the middle just too much for me. At least just for my taste. I would assume it would look more interesting with a slight pan to the left or the right.
As for the painting, since it occupies quite a large space in the renders, it helps to break the materials that separate it from the wall either by adding an aluminum frame, or a a specular element (is it a canvas? is it a glossy print or is it covered in glass?)
Nevertheless, you always amuse me with the nice renders!
Looking forward for more.
