You can do the basic modeling of this by creating a solid urn shape follow the outline or your desired shape, or a simple round one. Make the attached images above as your bump, trial and error for desired value. Apply and that's it.

You can also try showing the show reels of 3dsmax. Meron ata sa youtube nun.

Ang problema kasi, yung mga business man or yung mga boss natin di masyadong napapansin yung mga ganito.

Need Help To Model For Me To Impressed My Boss Empty Re: Need Help To Model For Me To Impressed My Boss

Post by v_wrangler Mon Jul 12, 2010 3:41 am

Since you are an employee, on payroll to provide services to meet your company's visual requirements, you need to ask yourself these questions:

1 . Is the current application we use sufficient in terms of what the company and it's client require?

If the answer is yes, then why spend a lot of money for a license that would take you the designer a couple more months to be productive in it? If speed is the issue, wouldn't it be better to get more seats of the current app to compensate for the time loss?

2. Is the desire to change app brought about by a work related issue or simply a personal desire?

Will a license of 3dsmax, allow more financial benefits to the company by being able to offer new services, or by speeding up old processes with new workflows? How long will a license be able to pay for it self?

Will the company find it rewarding to retain me (a total beginner) to get up and running with 3dsmax at a cost of x months * my salary compared with hiring a totally proficient user at 0 months * salary?

If my wish to use 3dsmax is just a personal desire, isn't it a lot easier and trouble-less for all parties (company spending money/myself and my peers learning a new thing) if I simply try my luck with a company that uses 3dsmax?

if all you want is to learn, why not download the software and learn at your spare time. I know a lot of designers who use a totally unrelated application at work but excel privately in 3dsmax by learning on their own.

Once you are able to determine the above, I am sure it will help you decide whether your proposal has chances or none at all. And if you deem you are positive about the benefits overriding the demerits then I do not see any problem for you making a proposal to your boss.

First, know what you talk about. If you do and you can support that, I do not see why a boss would not listen to you specially if the proposal is sound and promising.

I'm writing in a business point of view, sometimes companies make decisions that may not be totally popular among employees. Misunderstanding occurs because both parties look at entirely different positions and by knowing where both stand, it will help align the resources for the betterment of the company and it's people.

Images produced with max may illicit the oohhs and the aahhs. but be reminded that what good designer Pedro can do with 3dsmax does not mean every Pedring can do the same thing. It takes long hours of practice, talent and skills to produce a good image. Isa pa, a good image does not always mean - it bring the monies home. Sometimes images are just good as is, for show.

I would suggest that you do not stop at simply having a desire. Change is possible only when you actually take the steps to make that a reality.

Goodluck.
