Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
Good day mga kapatid ! rendermaster gave me an advised to make another thread which whole purpose is to help members who are modelling in cad.I think its time to shed light and issues regarding cad modelling ,so for a start here is a sample of what im going to do,the image below is my bike matagal ko talaga gustong gawin to, isa akong mechanical technician major in manufacturing and fabrication experienced in pure mechanical and electromechanical jobs , 3 year architectural drafting din grad .Sa experience ko sa precision machining i can fabricate almost anything from mechanical helical gears, bevel gears , worm threads ,cam and crank shafts and many senstive mechanical items kasi nga natrain ako from planning to fabrication from 2d to 3d but we were still using version 9 pa ng CAD noon, flat bed pa na Roland Dg ang plotter na ginagamit namin ,And pentium 286 pa .he he he he.. anyhow just a bit of introduction just to share you guys bout my background before doing this kasi mahirap mag design ng bike without knowing its elements that contributes to ease of riding ika nga ... so im inviting also those members whom has experience in advance cad modelling...
di pa kasi tapos modification ng bike ko kaya dual purpose na rin so di masyado nakaka abala sa time ko ito kasi project ko rin talaga to ,baka kasi mamali pag gawa sa shop ang tail section nya hope guys youll learned from this ..

STEPs
ill be using cad version 14 and i will render it also sa cad 14 ito kasi pinaka paborito ko noon kasi alang bugs, dito ko rin nasilayan ang mga techniques when i was yet beginnging with cad modelling pero mas simple nga ito kontra ng parts ng mga makina like helical bevel gear and worm threads , purely casing lang imomodify ko dito, so the exercises will touched more on surface modelling ,3-point ucs, splinedit, divide and many more ...so anyone who would like to add up please help so that this thread will benefit all of us.
1.Create first plans and elevations for our reference at kung reference natin ay image pede rin
2. open autocad and in your command prompt enter image , just follow the dialog and insert the image so the image will be on your screen
3.To get the exact scale of the image draw a line and use list to verify the measurement .
wag lang mainip ha mga kapatid kasi sinisingit ko lang during my free time just go with my flow
im using cad 14 ,kasi for everybody's knowledge it started all from this version not to bring down whos using higher versions just to create complex 3d ,im currently using 2011 for our outsourcing just telling you mga kapatid na updated ako palagi lalo na sa cad.gusto ko lng i prove sa inyo na noon pa man ay kaya na namin mag 3d ng complicated objects.ika nga its not the program but its the USER

Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
reference picture lang ito mga bros ito ang gusto kong ma achieve na itsura so habang im doin some 2d editting sa sidings ng motor ko , so im going to post some basic steps on how spline are effective in this technique of modelling ..
Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling

BAKIT NGA BA SPLINE?
spline kasi pag 3dpolyline segmented ang result so ginamit ko dyan sa curtain is edgesurf added 3 other lines to make it four kasi di mo pede gamiting ang edgesurf kung di siya apat na connected lines
just reminding you guys that it should be connected to produce the mesh
Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
reminder lang po sa lahat ! that all shown above is done using my own technique just wanted to make things clear dito di po ito by the book (tips and tricks po ito ng jumong book he he he he) it was my own discovery sa kakalkal ko ng version 14 noon dahil nga much complex ang ginagawa namin sa mechanical like helical bevel gear.. i know this technique is quite new to you but its so helpful and simple sana makatulong ako kahit kunti sa inyo..

salamat bro sa heads up, ill make sure dami tayong matutunan dito ..

Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
Lupit nito Sir Jumong.....I am curious how you will do the techniques for all! Good Luck on this...watch mode me.

ha ha ha ha! i know its really quite unusual lalo na rin sa inyo sir daps kasi cad modeller din kayo ,but i have a student na anjan na sa US who is doing more complex objects in cad they are in a company doing plastic molding ,ako matagal ko na talaga alam to may mga commands lang talaga na nakaligtaan natin sa cad which i think marami pang di nakakaalam , ayaw ko nga sana ibahagi ang nalalaman ko ,but konsensya ko kalaban ko lagi ,tapos may mga members din talaga na humihingi ng assistance and that is why i want to do this to help , sana kahit papano in my own little way makatulong ako ... thanks uli..

Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
Ayos ito.
This was supposedly the one that i was going to learn in CAD already, before i was introduced to some other modeling software. Actually, dalawa na lang ang hindi ko napag-aralan sa CAD, surface modeling, which this tutorial is all about (solid modeling lang kasi alam ko sa CAD), and LISP Programming, in fact i have this very thick book, on cad 2004. I learned to model in cad 10 yrs ago, and nung 2004 (after working and reviewing) i was already bent in moving on to this modeling method.
Looking forward to how you will tackle this.

oi andito na pala kayo sir , cge wait lng din kami ito im still editing ang elevations ko and plan maya maya may step 1 na ako sa side casing ko
MODELLING OF THE SIDE CASING
1.the image shown has 4 traced lines made out from the image , and a sample front elevation
the commands involved in this exercise are , pline, divide, points, splinedit, spline and ucs 3point
all of these are present in the latest versions but the ucs 3point cannot be found in your prompt when you command ucs nasa option yan na object
2.so i assume already everybody knows how to go to the isometric view so rotate the elevations to i there positions
3. i use divide command and divide edge 2 into 20 nodes where after you can draw a spline connecting all nodes

Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
critical points
4. sa image dito a spline was drawn so its like a rubber band theory actually but take note you cant snap the spline without basis so i created a pline marked red on the next image and from it created 3-point UCS so on that base ive drawn an arc and divide it into nodes so a can snap the spline so it can be accurate..
kung makuha nyo ang tip na ito i tell you guys kahit car yakang yaka na ninyo mas mahirap kasi ito ginagawa natin bukod sa curve sa harap pati sa likod curve pa rin and to adjust the spline for more control points just command splinedit and in the options choose refine
the two following images shows how a 3-point ucs plays a great role on the accuracy of the modelling so alam ko marami pang nangangapa sa ucs but this one is very important na malaman ninyo , if you command ucs after the enter type 3p for higher versions naman choose object and pick 3 points representing the inclined plane

Re: Autocad Advance 3D Modelling
sir jumong ibang klase talaga cad modeling skills mo...buti nalang at nakita ko to tutorial mo...dami pa pala ako di alam sa cad modeling..ako din solid modeling lang kaya ko sa AutoCad...meron pa pala surface modeling....kala ko sa max lang to ginagawa.....ayos talaga to...aabangan ko talaga to salamat sir jumong Cad Guro....
