3d artist need job, no payment required

well to be honest I'm not really looking for a job, my financial situation is ok and I can live fairly comfortably right now, I just want to improve my 3d skills and also go into a setting where I can interact or work on a project with other people, I never really had any formal schooling in 3d, though I can produce 3d projects without any assistance, I don't have any idea or any contacts in the industry , I've been studying 3d by myself for sometime now but want to do a project with a group. I would like to study under someone with a good skillset in character modelling and texturing, I think they call it interning with a company can any one help me with this?

no, not architecture, I'm interested in character production in 3d, my main program is maya I also know abit of 3dsmax
