SU to 3DS MAX work flow: SU material as Max Vray.

Mga masters, im a beginner trying SU to 3ds Max + Vray workflow.I've followed the tutorials by sir chillrender, but my materials are not yet as vray material. What should i do? Should I create a new vray material? Or is there a way on how to convert the loaded standard materials into vray materials? I wanted to turn my materials into vray materials because i am more familiar with it.
Help Please.

pero yung sa akin eto step ko dati.

before exporting i group all faces with similar materials.

sa max naman . kapag load na yung 3ds file...
- use the eyedropper (pick material from object) to select from the scene which material i want to edit. say yung wall.. i select that wall using eyedropper.
- beside nung materila name... just click yung box (ussually standard ang nandun) so click it and choose vray material dun sa material map browser..
(dont worry kung parang nakita mong nawala ang material mo)
- dun sa diffuse map slot.. find the material you use.
(either locating it manually or ..browse ne bitmap tapos hanapin o ang file. or yung "scene".. nandun na yung material mo at kung pireserve mo yung mapping lapat na lapat yun.

with that "i think dun sa tutorial ni chill" you manage to configure the path were materials you are using are located.

Opo, naconfigure ko yung soure path.Pero hindi ko nakita na ginawa nyang vray material kaya medyo na stock dun sa ginawa nya which is yung hangang sa pagloload lang. SIge po, try ko po ulit.

my workflow
better use su6/7

1.Check all faces were in correct position/ no purple sides or double....explode all.
2.export as material...this will group them to max
.........check ur preferred units..mine is to meters.
3.export as 3ds file
4.import to max the 3ds file
5.convert as vray scene..
-right click then V-ray scene converter to convert all the materials to Vray)

Thanks po for the Advice. I'll try that also. Medyo busy lang kaya di ko pa nasubukan alin man sa dalawa.

pero ngayon sa max 11. pwede mo na import yung skp file direct to max.. tapos yung sinasabi ni ortzak...i think yun and pinakamadali.

yung sakin naman, pag di naman glossy at color lang, di ko na ginagawang vray material. pag special na saka ko na iconvert. usually pinapalitan ko lang dyan yung glass. automatic na yan mapapalitan lahat ng glass material.

Sinusubukan ko na po mag apply ng material tanung ko lang po, minsan nawawala yung bitmap ko sa M>scene, is that normal?kahit na niload ko yung source path? kasi kapag vineview ko sa labas nandun din naman sya sa folder. Ang ginagawa ko na lang ay hanapin yun manually.

ganun nalang. click mo nalang yung show map in viewport sa material editor.
