Game Character Design - Futuristic Soldier

Hi Guys,

Eto muna post ko, isang futuristic soldier. Im planning to create a game. Pero i got to start from concepts, so eto. comments are always welcome. Every level, mag upgrade yung armor nya, so ngayon, eto yung level 1 armor. still need to think about armor upgrade. whew, hirap pag mag isa ka lang. tsaka eto din yung game environment na gawa ko. medyo nag co color pa ko. dipa tapos. update ko nalang kayo soon.

sa programming, medyo di ako marunong, tanong tanong lang, or copy paste sa ibang may script. sa world environment building, medyo may konting alam. update ko kayo soon. thanks sa comment.

Unreal Game Engine or they call it UDK editor, medyo nag aaral pa din ako, mga online tutorials. Sana di ako tatamad tamad dito, kasi gusto kong mag upgrade ng portfolio.

yeah, pero plano pa lang, sa 3D medyo alam ko, pero pag sa script na, for sure magkakaproblema ako as i progress. kung may alam kayo about Unreal, it would be great if you guys could share it

@ladiesman217- matindi nga si Iron Man. Yung concept ko ay iba, parang foot soldier, pang war sa afghanistan or iraq, hehe, pero futuristic, tapos mga kalaban nya ay monsters, haha. eto pala update ng temple, dito mangyayari ang bakbakan.

also, maganda sana kung meron ka solid na concept. kahit hindi in drawing, kahit in writing lang. basta yung maabot mo yung look at etc sa iba sa ibang paraan kasi mas mahirap pag drawing. yung tipong gawa ka ng universe mo, pag meron ka ng idea, lalabas na yung visuals nun automatically

Sir I doubt magagawa po ito mag-isa. Kekelanganin niyo ng tulong for sure. Doing game art is way different from programming. Game art alone is a long process to deal with. Maraming dapat i-consider like making the asset game-ready, making the visuals eyecandy plus lots of other technical stuffs. Tapos meron pang level design.

for info: Meron po tayo bagong game engine especially designed for apple application like iphone, itouch etc... this is an engine that is an all in one package, from game design, 3d production and programming... pwedeng gumawa ang isang tao lang ng 1 whole game with this application software, it's the Unity 3d Game Engine!!! http://unity3d.com/

possible to sir. I have gotten into a gaming company before, they hired me as a lead game artist... hello kitty nga lang yun una kong project, but then I was able to come up with a solid game design, although it's a prelim, it's complete with Storyboard, concept arts, in digital renders, level design in script composition, including game mechanics with the story flow combined... di nga lang kami nag push through sa actual/technical production kasi nagresign ako... but the guy before me, he did it once already, handling everything i just mendtioned down to technical game production... he was once the asset of that same gaming company..

Kaya sir Orcgod, kaya niyo yan! you should be in the right track kung meron na kayo nitong mga main/major parts of game development contents na ito.

marcelinoiii: Depende siguro sir kung what kind of game ang target mo gawin. He's talking about using UDK, so it's a "next-gen" type of game. And yun pipeline or workflow (dunno what's the right term) ng ganon klaseng game eh IMO hindi siguro kakayanin matapos mag-isa lang. Yung paggawa nga lang ng mod ng mga videogames eh isang team ang kelangan or sometimes collaboration pa, what more pa kaya kung isang buong game na.

its possible, dati nagjudge ako ng competition na gagawa ng isang grupo ng game within 2 days. its doable pero depende nga kung anong klaseng game.

personally, tingin ko pinakamadaling gawin na type na game eh yung parang dota. parang once tapos na yung programming side, lagay ka nalang ng lagay ng characters.

hi reyknow, yeah, that would be awesome. if you wana contribute, you can, if you want, you could conceptualize your own villain character, maybe a monster, something barbaric with a lil bit futuristc.

for the script, yeah, im not good at it, but ill try to write a story behind the game. I know this is too much of an attempt, but ill just work slowly on this. They say that a Journey starts with a step. Nasanayan ko kasi is Sketch concept, so everything i could think of diretso sa drawing, then script can follow, para sa kin.

I agree, diko kaya mag-isa. Kung saan makaya ko, gagawin ko, if i need help, then there is a purpose why you guys are here. hehe. i could ask advice from you guys. I have all the time in the world to develop this game. If i fail, then its because im procrastinating.

Thanks marcelinoiii. yeah, you can donate game characters from your design. that would really help a lot. Im just doing this for fun, and if you want to pitch in, makes the process faster and easier.

For sure, your name will always be included. The reason why Im doing this is to make a product portfolio for game development that I could offer to future clients here in the US.

I would never use somebody's talent for my own credit, if you voluntarily commit to this, that would be fun. If this product development would work in the future, then for sure you will be included for a paid project.

For now, Im not hiring concept artist, or 3D artists, if i could get a client of a certain project, i could contact you guys, let me see your portfolio and we will take it from there.

I agree boyluya. This should be a team effort. And like I said, Ill take one step at a time. Got all the time in the world. and ill update you guys on my progress. but maybe in a 3D wip thread, since this is 2D thread.

Sir boyluya, agree naman ako na pag dating sa nexgen game, at lalo mala-splinter cell e team effort at malakihang production... pero naniniwala naman po ako na gagawin lang ni sir orcgod yun abot kamay niya, 1 reason he's trying and attempting to do so. kaya naman agree pa rin ako sa inyo sir boyluya, kaya naman nagooffer tayo ng help

Sir orcgod, I'd be glad to contribute on this. You sound reasonable and i would be very happy to help to an aspiring artist like you... I'll start my share soon... wait kalkal ako ng character...

my fave character creation: my blade master (pakialagaan sya sir hehe, you may give him a good character role, he's an experiment something-try to read the origin on the side, i created him few years back but haven't set him off yet... your game story may give him a good kick off to start he's career with hehe)


2nd fave: brother of blade master (an ultimate army weapon experiment-gone-wrong and turned into monster/killer creature)


a typical chainsaw massacre guy: ito sir pwede natin gawin more advanced with hi-tech weapons/tools


kung may script ka sir, tulong ako isingit yan mga characters na yan para maganda ang pasok nila sa sequence at game play...

@marcelinoii - wow! ganda ng characters mo pre, your good we can definitely put them in the game. To have your characters be modeled in 3D, if its ok with you, kindly draw a front and side view, or even back view for all your characters.

dont color them, just draw straight from the pencil. and sign your drawings with date. scan it to me, and will take it from there.

Also, to make sure that nobody will steal your concept drawings copyright, you mail the drawings to yourself, put it in the envelope, mail it to your address and dont open it. Keep it as record.

and after you do everything, Ill start modeling your characters.

As for the tips on how to make copyright... hehe pwede pala yun... galing ah, having you there in US you should know this nga... salamat sa tip sir.
