Gutterless roof

Help naman cgpeeps!!

I have been commissioned to do a design and supervision work on a 2 storey residence. Actually this is my first time.

I am thinking not to put a gutter at all on it's roofing design. BTW yung roof overhangs is around .60 mts and roof apex is 2.8 mts. steep, about 100 sq. mts. ang area covered by the roof.
So medyo kinakabahan ako na baka in time ng rainy seasons e, magkaproblema.

So i want to hear your advice and opinions guys.

why not put a gutter sir? did u consult this matter w/ your client?

aware naman sya sir. actually its my choice not to put a gutter, medyo gusto ko lang laruen a little bit yung design and para makatipid na den. Ive seen naman some houses here sa pinas na walang gutter. Medyo kabado lang ako and gusto ko malaman disadvantages ng walang roof gutter.

ask ko lng po bakit kayo kakabahan..??? ..ano po ba yung specs. ng bubong nyo....??
kung ang gusto ng may ari walang gutter walang problema yun..or dahil ikaw ang designer at gusto u may gutter pwede nmn ng INSIDE Gutter ang gawin mo=)

since maliit ung bolada mo kung ordinary window lang bka pumasok ung rain (angge)water pag malakas ulan.

Sir isa sa "disadvantage" ng walang gutter eh yung papatakan ng tulo ng ulan mabubutas yun kahit concrete pag nagtagal..pati magkukulay itim din yun at maaring maging madulas dahil sa lumot pag tag-ulan. (IMHO lang po)

Window ko is analok framed sliding wdw. rib type na tilespan ang roofing. Thanks sir

Ah..noted sir. Adjust nalang siguro ako sa site drainage ko, like putting up french drains. Thanks

ok lang walang gutter, pro hindi ka actually gaano din makakatipid kung yun ang target mo, kasi you have to spead for the EDGE CAP instead of a gutter.

Thank you sir bokks. Actually nakapag research nako about sa construction ng EDGE CAP or DRIP EDGE na yan, wala palang din talaga ako idea about sa costing nyan. Try ko siguro pa quote sa mga roof contractors...pero sir kung i rratio mga ilan ang percentage ng matitipid ko if hindi ako mag ggutter at all?, as far as drainage is concern im aware naman na kaylangan ko pa din mag lagay kahit concrete canals lang for site drainage. yup, isa pang kapalit sa cost yun, instead of catch basin, magkakaron ka ng open canal with steel grating. which will cost more than a catch basin. so wala halos savings. it's more on the design side rather than the savings side ang magiging concern mo dito ngayon. Not unless if you can pull off a really good alternative.

But as for me, I'd also love to see a gutterless roof. less maintenance problems and looks good on houses. good luck bro!

or u can use po stone pebbles or 3/4 gravel for the drop of rainwater. matipid yun.that is what we usually use sa mga project naming walng gutter,lagyan mo lang ng 2"socalo para hindi maghiwahiwalay ang mga bato mo.

Thank you sir RED. Sir question. do i have to leave the aggregates raw? do you put for example an open canal then dun ilalagay ang pebbles? or meron pang ibang components to reinforce its draining capabilities??

canal pre with pebbles or gravel....as seen sa mga japanese design filled-in lang ng ganun!!!ganda pa tignan kahit wala kang gutter!!! pero teka ano ba yung roof mo? kung gi roof tile ang gamit mo parang pangit tignan na walang gutter...kung tegula etc. or any concrete besides GI maganda without gutter!!!

no need to worry on gutter less roof bro..
basta magaling ang gagawa...
and choose a best solution for your drainage..
share ko lang bro we are fun of playing ang flow ng tubig specially ang rainwater..
may gnwa kami nun ung tubig ulan dinesign namin na maging falls kapag umuulan..well its just a small portion but very innovative..
so may parang pond sa baba na diretso sa drainage..
so kapag umuulan, landscaping na may falls..kapag tag araw..landscaping lang..hehe
(unfortunately nkahold parin ung project..hehe)

well di ko alam form ng roof mo pero bka makakuha ka bro ng idea regarding dun..
just think crazy and look for crazy contractors din..

in my new design of open canal. i put raw adobe rocks at least 300mm x 100mm 20mm.thk along canal, elevated at least 50mm from NGL. then raw aggregates 3/4. para pag patak ng ulan hindi cla lalabas kahit malakas,kapag pebbles na maliit lalabas cla.tsaka mas mahal ang pebbles. at least 100mm. deep. kung gusto mo malinawan pa. add mo nalng ako sa Y.M. rionne_francisco@yahoo.com.
