Blender

Hello cgpinoy,

I'm new here and like you, i wish to participate in the discussions here in this lively cg community.
In my case, i noticed that there is no thread nor discussions about Blender yet. For those who do not know Blender, Blender is an open source 3D modeling and animation software. It can also be used as a 3D game engine. Being open source, it is totally free. No cracks, no legal problems just plain creativity and fun. It can easily be downloaded from their website-- www.blender.org -- and it is rather compact. Just around 8 - 12 MB of powerful software. It is not a trial sotware nor a freeware. It is Totally free.

There are already Blender user communities here in the Philippines and i am a member of that community. To check out my work, you can visit my site at http://www.purokblender.com. Thanks bro. we used to have a blender section but noones posting. Buti nalang nandyan ka na and we can have it back. I've known blender since it started kaso di ko nabigyan ng panahon ang software kasi it was limited then. Pro ngayon I can see how it has evolve. Thanks for sharing the good news bro. I'm opening the blender section again.

nice to meet you bokkins. The reason for this is because, we blender users have our own forum. But anywayz, the more forum sites, the better. mas lalawak ang perspective pagsasali tayo sa iba't ibang forum.

I'm glad that you are reopening the Blender thread. I'll try my best to populate it with insights.

anyway, regarding Blender, I just finished another Ilonggo short animation using this software and it will be shown here in Iloilo @ UP Visayas auditorium on July during the FOundation week. I'm a faculty member here.

The youtube link below is the initial trailer of the film. But I have already updated its set so the look and texture in the final film will be different. I'll be posting an updated trailer soon.

isa sa mga gusto kong pagaralan na soft... since lahat ng computer sa school ay meron nito. our tech guys recommends this soft.

last time i even sa a pinoy forum with blender. if you go to their main site, yun may link duon yung isang pilipino forum using blender.

I wish I have time to learn all these stuff - pero kasunod yun pag naturuan na ako ni nomer ng SKetchup!

Ah, yun nga nomeradona. yun din ang forum page ng purokblender. Hindi kasi forum ang purokblender. Miscelaneous page ito about blender in the philippines. Pero kung furom lang nag habol mo, sa pinoyblender ka dumeretso.

Maganda ang blender. commercial sofware din gamit ko dati kaso pirata lang kaya nagshift ako sa blender kasi open source. medyo malilito ka lang sa una dahil iba ang GUI at approach. pero kapag natutunan mo na ang dali pa lang gamitin para ka lang may bagong cellphone.

Para sa gumagamit ng pirated 3D software highly recommended ko ang blender, ang 3D software kasi tools lang yan nasa artist/user pa rin ang output. Kaya stop piracy na mga dude, isipin na lang natin kung ung gawa natin ay ninakaw din sa atin.

Yup! Dati Maya ang ginagamit ko, pero walang lisensya. Blender is free, all output you made with it are sole properties of yours. Pwede rin magamit commercially, kagandahan pa nito, zero cost he he..

hi, cgpinoy. i am just new sa Blender and had just downloaded the latest release (2.61). medyo nakakalito yung interface.

meron akong na-download na pdf file pero mukhang lumang tutorial at iba ang orientation ng menu.
any recommended 2.61 tutorial site for a newbie like me?
