HDRI and DOME LIGHT

hello...good day back at cgpinoy..hehe pagtapos magpractice nang magpractice still no good...

may mga nakikita kasi ako mga guru or masters dito sobrang gaganda nang mga outputs nang rendering


medyo hindi ko makuha yung sistema kung papaano gawin yung mga output renders katulad kila

sir jarul, rqui and jade baka mga sir..pwede nyo ako bigyan nang mga tips na mahahalaga papaano maachieve yung ganung output...

anyway..hindi ko meant iduplicate yun..gusto ko lang makuha yung flow..then saka ako iimbento nang sarili kong mood or lighting...

hehe dami ko na nadownload na HDRI...pero iba parin pag once kinocompare ko..T_T wahh sana may makatulong..

Sir, comparing your work to others (like the big guys) in some point is good kasi nakikita mo mga mistake mo. back to the main topic, let's say ito yung mood na gusto mong eduplicate



try to analyse the lighting characteristic of the image....
ambient light hmmm blue! then look in your HDRI library a similar HDRI lighting characteristic of your reference image ...

in my library this is the only HDRI I have(though di sya 100% pariho but close enough (what I'll do is I'll lower the output gamma of my HDRI para maging mas depth yung pagka blue nya.




(since natry mo na ecompare yung work mo sa work nila I'll assume that you already know how to use the HDRI using the vray domelight)

I'm gonna add, it depends on the materials mo rin kasi hindi lang sa HDRi, dapat accurate yung mga materials mo kasi kung hindi ang mag sa-suffer ay yung output mo kahit gaano pa kaganda or high-res ang HDRi mo. example kung wood ang material mo dapat accurate ito sa pagiging wood; diffuse, bump, glossiness etc.

hehe..hindi ko alam saan kukuha HD na mga materials e..pero mostly sa vray materials de lang ako master...



kumukuha lang ako dun nang mga materials para sa mga renders ko pero minsan photoshop ko lang then nilalakihan ko para mataas resolution hehe

wish ko lang tama ginagawa ko..HAHA

btw...inaadjust ko yung gamma dun sa gamma sa processing



tama po ba?...anyway sana nasa tamang daan ako..will post once nakuha ko yung gusto kong output...



sa color mapping kahit LWF pwede po ba sir na 1 1 1 or may best setting para dito?...exciting..haha

Hi... adjusting the gamma output will increase and decrease your HDRI brightness.


(note this HDRI is loaded from a vray dome light (instance)

here's a tip. lower value much sharper shadow (mostly much realistic specially if your using only one HDRI to lit your scene) pag-high value naman po. mas clear yung image kaso almost no shadows are visible-of course again if your only using one HDRI to lit your scene.

in my opinion there's no best or correct colour mapping method, as long as your image looks good it's okay.

thank you sir arjun.. magagamit namin ito, yun kasi poblema ko basi sa pag practice/testing ko ng hdri nawawala yung sharpnes ng shadow pag pinapataasan ko multiplier ng hdri at pinahinaan ko sun multiplier.. newbie lang po mag vray..try ko ito mamaya..

btw...pag ini ON ko ba yung vray shadow sa elements while using frame buffer



macocompensate ba nun yung shadow loss dadaanin sa Photoshop, just in case taasan ko yung gamma rating then lower sun intensity?

WOW GOOD NEWS...wahaha..finally nagets ko na yung HDRI at domelight ayon sa instructions mo

yun lang standard parin...pero finally nakuha ko na yung set nang render na gusto ko...ill post today...maybe sa interiors..: )
