Tamron's T180's has very limited sweet spot for general purpose. But if I were to buy my next macro glass it'd be this one.

Down to Nikkor vs. Sigma, how much is your budget? You should be able to answer this first coz both are fine lenses (oh that f2.8, any glass with this specs is already a thumbs up). And usually Nikkor beats other brands coz it has a special way of communicating with your nikon body. Take note that the Sigma has that 'MACRO' highlight that makes shooting portraiture/telezoom a bit compromised too.

Good luck on your purchase and hope you post your review soon!

checked the price
the nikkor 70-200 is too expensive x3 the price of the tamron

i found these instead
AF-S Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF DX VR
but its f3.5........

the 70-200 is not comparable to the 18-200, sa fstop pa lang you can see that the 70-200 is fast and sharp. that's why most nikoners use the 70-200 for low light

in my opinion, id stick with the 18-55 + 55-200 combo instead of the 18-200. nvm changing lens, if you are going to spend that much on an 18-200, bili ka na lang ng 2nd camera (D40 or D60)

1. unang una sir, alamin mo muna kong saan mo gagamitin...syempre okay ang SP AF180mm F/3.5 Di LD (IF) 1:1 Macro kung sa Macro mo ito gagamitin.pero very limited lang ang pag gamit mo nito.

2. Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR ( pero alang macro) - i'm a canon user, but i'm sure this is the ideal to buy, because of its big openning @ 2.8 may VR pa, but expect it to be expensive...

3. APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO HSM - yes it's cheaper, the same big openning with Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8..but not the same quality.

so i'll go for Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR thumbsup

yes compatible. for one, optics, i think ok pa rin ang nikkor, although the sigma 18-200 is just as good if you need a cheaper alternative, just go with the optical stabilization kasi sa 200mm mejo me shake na yan.

you can try checking out the lens reviews here:

for the nikkor 18-200 VR: http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/nikon_18-200_3p5-5p6_vr_afs_n15/
for the sigma 18-200 w/ OS: http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/sigma_18-200_3p5-6p3_os_n15/
