Buying DLSR for New User

Hi Guys,
I've read reviews about Canon 1000d. It is a good camera for new user & amatuers.
I am eager to buy that camera in few days 'cause it offers 18-55mm + 70 - 300mm + 4G sd card equivalent to Php28,000.00. My Budget is around that Price. Anything that is above 30k will be expensive for me.
Is it worth at this time. Maybe Canon will change their dlsr entry level model.
I'm really decided to buy but I hope I wont regret it. Please advise.
