Re: Nick Vujicic-Truly Inspiring
Very inspiring indeed. I can kinda relate to this, being born with only one eye for seeing and one ear for listening.
Sometimes, i wonder how it is like to experience music in 5.1 stereo, would my ears be more tickled upon hearing non-conventional radio-friendly new music, if i had 2 of these hearing tools? I sometimes, am curious, how is it like to watch a movie in 3d. mind you, 3d glasses are of no use to me.
But even with these minor shortcomings that i have, i still cherish and relish this life. We can never be perfect, we sometimes end up being resentful of our predicament, but it's these stories, that make us snap up and say, we are luckier than the next person beside us, be it someone with a handicap or not.
Most of you guys are luckier than me, and i am luckier than nick.
I was blessed with just an eye, and my work involves the use of two eyes, since i am an architect by profession, who also dabbles in 3d, though i am not a quarter as good or even better than most of the talents that you guys have in this discipline.
I have one ear for hearing music, and surprisingly, i am quite good at it. Such irony.
Thanks sir Jeff for sharing this with us.
Let us all be inspired, and be thankful of the things we have.

Re: Nick Vujicic-Truly Inspiring
This is a testament to MAN"S indomitable spirit & capacity to rise above & overcome life's tribulations; not to a malignant deity's capacity to love. No loving father (mother if your creator is feminine) would ever wish this for his son/daughter. Ever.
Personal opinion, just want the tables to be even...

Re: Nick Vujicic-Truly Inspiring
I know a lot of people who had two eyes but not a keen one. I also know people who had big mouths but theirs always bare.
You might have only one eye and an ear to listen but last time I heard and saw you talk, you were far greater than people who even had a third one.
You might only had one but its not because you lost them. You shared them to people.
A keen eye and an ear that knows how to listen. That's Ed.
Life is just a state of mind, fear, loneliness and disappointment. Learn to put on the switch and you'll be fine.
Mata ne.

Re: Nick Vujicic-Truly Inspiring
very heartwarming words right there sir vertex.
I have learned to live with what i have, since birth...it was actually a very rough time during my younger years in school. And music, rock music actually, became an outlet for me, not to mention that i already displayed a skill in music and the arts when i was as young as 9 yrs old. Playing the ukelele and drawing the characters on those mabuhay game boards. Somehow music took it's toll, and i exchanged the pencil for a guitar when i was in high school.
Music became an on and off thing for me, that was developed as the years go by.
As for my profession, who would have thought that I would end up becoming an Architect? It was just a very long journey for me, That ended when I passed my exam, and started again during my private practice. I still don't know of an architect in this country who has the same condition as myself. I haven't met a 3d guy who has a partial visual handicap.
It can be hard sometimes, I would admit, but life must go on, i am what i am.
