Hhmmmm.. I think Tamin is right din about the 12GB memory limit. Anything more than that is just a waste of money. UNLESS! You guys don't use a farm and you're doing animations of huge gigantic projects, but if not, you really don't need that much. Kami nga were only using 8GB rams and we manage. Take tamin's word, he's from a CG firm and they really know what's necessary. Besides, you could always rely on proxies and xrefs to minimize the power drain.

As what ive said kay sir hotrod,hindi ko pa talga na try more than 4GB kse nga yung mga old systems namin nsa 4gb lng ang ram.And besides we're not doing big scenes tulad ng mga ginagawa nila sir tamin. Kailan nga lng kami nag 64 bit dito sa office e.hehehe.jologs diba. But some big projects are coming in already. Actually last year pala we did a big one like a small city sa saudi and may mga pailan ilan na mga buildings and nagkaroon ako ng maraming problema lalo na rendering hi res kse nga limited nga magagawa ng 32 bit . Kaya ngayon we decided to get decent rigs.We're supposed to go for boxx but its just too expensive. Imagine if we're going to buy 4 of those..sobrang laking magagastos namin though i know we have a budget pero we still went to dell and decided to take those t7500 and save money to some other upgrades like salary upgrades.hahahahaha!parang mas ok ung upgrade na yun a!I know hindi ka kokontra.hehehehe..
Last night,as inspired by sir tamin,i tried to render 4 scenes at the same time sa rig ko sa bahay which is i7 with 12gb ram. around 1.2 million polygons average each rendering at 3500px each. Opening after effects and photoshop and load 40 photos to edit. Nag peak ako ng halos 8.3gb ram at LC. I tried punishing my rig as well and see what this machine made of. So far ok nmn.So i guess tama nga kayo,12 GB was enough. Laking tulong talga ng 64bit.Those are the kinds of multi tasking that 32 bit can dream of.hahahaha..
O sya cge na amigo.Daming OT na to..Pm mo na lng ako for some more tsismis. Ingat na lng dyan.

@sir ARCHITEKTHURA: Pero, talagang ang sarap pa din ng mga rigs niyo sa workplace sir. Pangarap ko din makatikim ng mga ganyan na rig, kahit, small time lang ang ginagawa ko, tipong hobbyist lang. Right now, my personal rig is only powered by a Q9550 with 4 gigs of ram, on a 64bit system. Ok naman, di ko pa nasubukan magsagad sagad, tamang maximum of 45 minutes render time palang ang natitikman ko.

Mas ok yung salaray upgrade..hihihi....

Thanks for the test , I also did some test, but I haven't had a chance to exceed 12gigs, yun thoughts ko kasi, if you have dual processor would the cores be limited to perform if we have less ram. I got the new boxx kasi at dual 6 core, so 24 cores.hehe kaya was wondering if the 24gig ram will help max out all the cores, for now ill jst stick with 12gig ram. until i can max out and do more test
