Since there's a lot of talk about clients running away with your images and not paying, maybe its about time we educate ourselves and them, as well Very Happy

Good start sir V, pag freelancer kasi may tendency na baratin or hindi ka bayaran ng client so ito ang gingawa ko:
1. naglalagay ako ng watermark or maliit ang images ( enough for viewing only )

I my self had a lot of unpaid jobs when i was just starting to do sidelines or as we call it "Gilid", at first i was so fist off that i can shallow them whole but i realize that part of it is my fault so in short i learned to deal with this kind of clients by just having a thorough conversation with them explaining all including limits. Just a piece of advice if you bump on a good client think always of the "quality not the quantity" this will lead you to a better opportunities.

thanks for turning the wheel, kettlerenderer.

There's a lot more I can add - heres one muna:

If the freelancer saved your butt - let the world know and praise them for that!

Hiya, shame - I like that.

Let me add also, let's start with this:

Pay your dues on time. Don't let the freelancer or employee wait too much. Because, not only you the client is in need, but also the person who rendered service on your project.

The Fairy Tale Client:

1. Knows what he really wants.
2. If he doesn't know what he want, should listen to the artist's opinion. He may or may not agree to it but at least he would value the input.
3. Makes himself clear, concise and complete when giving instructions.
4. Whether he treats us as equals or not doesn't matter - what matters is he acknowledges the artist as the expert in what he does.
5. Understands that in order for the artist to deliver on the dot, that he should provide enough information for the artist to work on.
6. Must be realistic in schedules. This of course has to be two-way - the artist needs to do the same to the client as well.
7. Pays promptly.
8. If he cannot do any of 1-7, at least treat the artist with RESPECT as a human being.

Addendum:

9. Honors the contract. The worst a client could do (aside from not paying) is to let the artist do a lot of work only to abandon the job completely without any reasonable cause. (Then towards the end the artist discovers that the idea was used anyway.) - doesn't this just make your blood boil?
