Is this a SCAM?

I received an from Jon Palejo last night.

entitled:

London Trip.....(Help Needed).....Jon Palejo

Hi,
I'm writing this with tears in my eyes,my family and I came down here to
London, United Kingdom for a short vacation. unfortunately,we were
mugged at the park of the hotel where we stayed,all cash,credit card
including cell phone was stolen off us but luckily for us we still have
our Live and passports saved with us.

We've been to the Embassy and the Police here but they're not helping
issues at all and our flight leaves in few hours from now but we're
having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let
us leave until we settle the bills. Well I really need your Help,Please
let me know if you can help us out? Am freaked out at the moment!!

Kung sino man ang nakakilala sa kanya paki confirm lang po kung toto ba to or na hack lang ang email nya.

I think this is likely a SCAM. a quick google did the trick. Try googling the letters' first paragraph.

grabe talaga tong mga taga Nigeria! sorry pero nakailang beses na rin ako naka tanggap ng mga scam letters galing sa mga negro na to!

Kung sino ang nakakilala kay Jon Palejo please paki inform nalang sa kanaya na hacked and email add nya.

Bro,pasencya pati tuloy kayo napadalahan ng hindi totoong balita,na huck yong email ko.at nakugulat na lang ako kanina na nagreply yong mga client ko na yong mga remaining balance nila sa akin ay ipapadala na daw at naawa sila sa akin.thou hindi ko pa naman sila sinisingil.at nag change ako agad ng password ko kaya lang sa ngyon hindi ko parin mabukasan ang email ko. hu hhuhhh.

well bro at least you will get advance payment... regarding your email try contacting the provider for support.
